First and foremost, the lvl 40 requirement to post is beyond BS...in my opinion. 20 I could see, 15 would be ideal! How else is a new person to ask questions in a thread they can't create to draw attention to it?
But that not this communities fault, so I digress
Overall, not a LOT of gaming, but many years of it instead. There's more I'm sure, but those are the bigger ones.I would like to start off by mentioning my gaming history (as most probably do!) in my almost 31 years of life.
King in Utopia for about 5 years (though not an MMO!)
Officer in a guild in City of Heroes (a guild in which the dev's stated was the sole reason for having to change the end game raid (Hamidon)...twice) for 7 years
Raid leader in World of Warcraft, and main raid tank for 5 years
Guild Leader in 2 different guilds in SwtoR, and an officer with my alt in another. Also main raid tank in 2 of the 3 guilds. Played since closed beta.
Guild Leader in GW2 for about a year. Meh.
Lead tank in Aion (Glad, then switching to Templar) for about 4 years.
I've been DYING to get in here to post my opinions on this game, and since I've been here a little over a week now, I finally get to do so. This is not a rant, far from it. (First paragraph aside)
I REALLY like this game. The FATES, the story, the class turning into Jobs, and most of all (and SO FAR <---emphasis) the community. I'm new, and I mention that in dungeons. MOST of the folks, if not all, don't care and are HAPPY to teach me the ropes and how and where to tank whichever boss we're on. I know how to tank away from the group, I've been there and done that in each and every game. I'm a tank, and I'm a damn good one in the other games.
Each and every time there is a wipe, we rebound and tackle it again. No one has berated me. No one has bashed me or starting shouting obscenities about my mother. No one has threatened to set my dog on fire using a blowtorch.
This game and the way it is currently is pretty much everything Guild Wars 2 should have been, and then some. I'm know this game has some CON's on top of all the pros, and I'm not going into that here. The community and the game is everything I never knew I would enjoy and for that, I say thank you.
