Bump to the top
Hello, what program do you use for parsing? I heard some contain viruses so I did not bother to download them. I read parse/video footage is mandatory so I will need a day or two to parse or buy fraps.
You can google whatever you think you might need. For footage, I personally recommend OBS' local recording feature.
I have used OBS but I lag a bit when I play I am trying to work out the kinks, not sure how though. Also i used the ffxivv app but when other members of the party used it at the same time we logged different DPS for the same people . I got 190 on 1, 220 on another, and 250 on someone else's. So I dont know how that would be an accurate dps check.
Honestly, I have nothing against you or your guild, and I was quite interested in filling an application--until I saw "...12+ hours a day...". Is this a typo or a joke? Basically, no one with a career, family, or education commitment is going to be able to fill those kinds of raid hours without succumbing to severe sleep exhaustion.
I am fully aware of the hours hardcore raiding guilds usually put in, as I have been in a few myself, but never to an extent such as this. These hours are beyond extreme, especially for a game as mainstreamed as FFXIV; maybe FFXI, WoW 1.0, or EQ1, but not FFXIV.
We're definitely not the ideal environment for the average player, nor do we try to be. Let me provide further context though from the original post: "Typically, we ask our players to be able to put in 12+ hours a day for at least three to seven days or so of new content, then we scale back according to everyone's needs."
If you're the type of player that isn't excited enough about Coil patches (which appear to be timed every six to seven months) to take a few days off school or work, then we probably aren't the place for you. We do have a social rank for players who fit the mindset and personality that we're looking for but not the playtime.
Actually most if not all of the top say 100+ guilds in WoW put in this much time when new content hits. It is pretty typical for any guild going for world firsts. Like they say, it isn't for anyone, and yes if you have a career, family, or anything that prevents you from laying such hours, then this isn't for you, but there is still a section of MMO players who do this.
