You might not realize it, but you're equivocating here. The "against gear swaps" camp is not complaining about the difficulty. Gear swapping was ridiculously easy in FFXI (if you used SpellCast or its equivalent), and, unless you were tanking and didn't want to blink out on the healers, there was no reason not to do it. That's not the point.

The "against" camp wants more gear.

The "against" camp wants more content.

The "against" camp does not want gear swapping in combat to become the norm like it was in FFXI.

I fear that you misunderstand the debate and encourage you to read the thread so you can understand the arguments of the "against" camp rather than make them into straw men. Here's a summary.
