And once again, because of a number of people that said they do not want this idea back, this topic has turned into FFXI vs FFXIV.

i read everything and thank you for not reading cause i pretty sure i *** on every excuse as so did Enthy with basically the same reasons i said. you need to read the posts b4 posting yourself.
also roll it been said, if there was a blinkmenot then se could of kept it from happening in ffxi, in ffxiv it could of been faster and without blinks. don't *** on the idea, *** on the way se is implementing it. no matter the reasons for or nay. the idea behind it for me is not destroying old gear or content, also if it don't do that, at the very least it will give players lots of gear to collect, nm's to kill and hunt. more reasons to not quit say dynamisis or a endgame event cause they got the 1 items worth getting instead.
give us more spaces, make it less anoying. don't completly trash it, nor give se a reason to throw out good ideas cause it take them a little work to fix and then just give us a copy of other mmo's. and eventually there will be enough gear if they wanted it that way.
think of it as a bluemage, u needed to collect every spell to use it properly. this was awsome, it took time and was fun to do. this is the same process , swaps do this for every class but with gear.

That's one of the reasons they're adding the Materia Systemthe idea behind it for me is not destroying old gear or content, also if it don't do that, at the very least it will give players lots of gear to collect, nm's to kill and hunt. more reasons to not quit say dynamisis or a endgame event cause they got the 1 items worth getting instead.![]()
You needed to collect every ability to use it properly? What? I have no clue how that relates to gear swapping. And collecting blue mage spells was fun? Sitting around for a chance that an enemy will use the right ability for a chance at learning it? That's your idea of "fun"?
If you're getting so bored with the game's combat to the point where you think gear swaps would actually add some depth, then you've really fallen off the deep end. How about a better combat system in which you're constantly using abilities that actually matter? Your effectiveness in battle should be determined by your knowledge of what skill should be used when, not if you can macro a crapload of gear to one skill.
Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.
umm all you say is expected too, i'm not asking for one or the other, stop being polititians, i not picking one or the other, i want all them things u mention. You needed to collect every ability to use it properly? also lots of rpg's have a class where u need to collect moves like picture takers that steal your moves threw taking pictures. yes it was entertaining collecting the spells/ gears, i don't get it most of you want solo play in game but u don't like the idea of running around killing mobs for spells/ gears.
stop trying so hard with excuses any reason is simpley put fixable by implemnting correctly, dont' shit on an idea that was good cause they screw it up.
so if you were a CON and there was a hat that gave you 10% MAB to nuke and the hat you have now stats are gathering +2 and Cure Potency +5% and your in battle and need to nuke you would have to swap it and keep ppl waiting and such no would you want easy way to switch it in and outYou needed to collect every ability to use it properly? No thanks. Peoples inventory are full as it is. Also I dont like to see people blink for every god damn attack they do
i loved gear swapping in ffxi, i really was disapointed when it wasn't in this game. biggest reason is i like collecting the gears for it all. u turn the 22spaces of gear into way more. now instead of 22 u have gear swaps witch are equivelent to more slots that u need to collect gear for. i loved this and wish it back. also i hate gear sets and having to decide witch ones to put on for when instead of switching them out threw marco's then and there.
i'm thinking this game will have best job gears and best class gears at some point along with best for situation gears but i hate the idea of having to put my sheath down to do it. or having to be geared prior. macro's and gear swaps is the way to go.
people who don't like to macro well the problem is that no games are changing how macro's work ...they keep making them complex crap with text lines when it can be something simple for people like drap and drops or something that takes seconds to do.
but yeah, gear swapping was awsome in ffxi, change sets for everything, full sets of mp heal and rest, for nukes, for ws, for landing spells, everything. was great. and surely beats being stuck with like 2sets of gear or soemthing like that witch then u have to replace instead. if no switchings means how many peices of gear u will really have? i'm thinking without gear swaps it will be like other mmo's where new gear replaces the old, and i say this is horrible idea.
