    Just because gear swapping mid-battle isn't allowed doesn't mean that horizontal gear progression has to become obsolete. If the game is designed well then equipment can still be situational, just on a session-by-session basis rather than for each individual action.

    One day you might do a dungeon with monsters that spam blunt AoE attacks, so you decided it would be more efficient to switch some of your STR gear for other pieces that cut a high % of blunt damage. The next day you might run a dungeon with monsters that have fairly low evasion, so you can afford to trade out some gear with accuracy bonuses for others that will increase your damage.

    This, very much so. And to expand on this point, there is no reason you have to use the gear on a session by session. There's nothing stopping you from changing gear/classes between fight or before bosses

    No please, one of the things i love about XIV over XI is no gear swaping. I want to be able to look at my character while fighting. Not seeing him blink every time i use a skill.

    As incredibly slow as this game is in gear swapping I don't see this being an issue.

    With 11 you could swap multiple pieces of gear with one "Blink"

    With 14 it takes one "Blink" per piece of gear.

    This is a non starter.

    I did it in XI because if you didn't you were gimp.

    I hate it and I hope it never comes to this game.

    Don't want gear swaps. I like the idea of having to balance a set of gear for fights. I really hated it in XI but had to use it to be remotely effective for 8 years I'm tired of it.

    Only thing I really miss from FFXI is the epic skill macros people had. My best was in the dunes when I first started the game at NA release.

    There was a monk who every time he boosted.

    /shout "I'M GETTING STRONGER!!!!!"

    best macro ever.
