Dear god no!
At least not to the extent that it was done in 11....having 3 macros that would make me have epileptic seizures because the character kept appearing and disappearing with new gear for a split second to cast a spell and then go away...hell no!
I only liked this on summoners when having the adequate staff made your summon cost less mp per second

i wonder if anyones brought up the fact that people talk about realism and immersion; swapping out every piece of armor that u wear in a split second during combat does not add realism or immersion.
yes the way we change gear in the game now is not realistic but during combat is just over the top
it was just one of the many features of ffxi that was exploited and was not working as intended, just like blink tanking.

It's been brought up about a hundred times in this thread. And ignored about a hundred times in this thread, because, and I quote, "it's realistic if u use a macro noob."i wonder if anyones brought up the fact that people talk about realism and immersion; swapping out every piece of armor that u wear in a split second during combat does not add realism or immersion.

My name is a killing word.
(Seriously: "Caerith" was a forbidden name when I signed up on the forums.)
Eorzea should be a world, not a lobby.
Spoke with Battle Master Matsui to get the lowdown on the whole gear swapping question that's got you all buzzin'. In regards to swapping gear while in battle, since changing certain gear while in battle will change your class in FFXIV, we're not planning to make it possible to swap gear in battle. This direction will not change in the future.
We are focusing instead on making adjustments with the battle-related fixes to ensure that you can battle to your utmost ability without having to rely on changing gear multiple times mid-fight.

Then Fire Matsui as well because you have now just confirmed for us that each patch or update will make the next one useless essentially killing the game similar to what you guys did with Abyssea in XI when you tossed 7 years of peoples lives down the toilet.Spoke with Battle Master Matsui to get the lowdown on the whole gear swapping question that's got you all buzzin'. Swapping gear made each item a specialty item and kept people killing the same endgame mobs for years. It did not out date the content and allowed the game to progress to a point where there was actually almost to much to do on a weekly basis.
Since you have confirmed for us that the gear will last a year maybe two until the next level cap increase I would say you are taking the game in the direction of WOW and bowing to the masses. I guess the casual gamers have finally won, and those of us that enjoyed XI's very intricut systems with all its complexity and challenges probably wont be around for very much longer.
