True. It's definitely better than looking like a mismatched clown while in combat. Surprised the enemy doesn't collapse laughing at some of the ridiculous get ups we've had to wear in XI.I rather have good gear sets with set-bonus on them that fit my class rather then swapping them around.
I like the idea of full-set-boni anyways. You can create nice looking sets and don't have some weird looking stuff swapped in between just so ONE weaponskill does 5% more dmg.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
dont see what the big deal about adding gear swaps i never used it in ffxi and i wont use it here if they add it.
Definitely NO for gear swaps. I hated having to spend an hour getting and moving around gear when I changed jobs in FFXI. It was manageable at lower levels but as you started to accumulate multiple 75+ jobs it got way out of hand. Players shouldn't be rewarded for carrying 3-4 sets of armor and spending hours sorting piles of gear instead of playing the game. In short, I'm glad it was done away with.
Well I think that all these comments about dancing fairies and ridiculous costumes and 'sailor moon online' are quite hillarious.
However I do remember enjoying the gear swapping myself but I guess that was just because it was something more to think about. XIV can still have layers of complexity without gear swapping so I don't think it's necessary. To anybody who fondly remembers gear swapping I would say to let it go there will be something else ridiculous to love I'm sure. And to the nay sayers... meh i guess you had to be there ^^. (like those ridiculous battle regimens)

No thank you, Oh hell no thank you.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Reminds me of my BLM and his 8 elemental staves... Interrupted casting animations... Oh and bitching elitists when I was tired of gear swappping. [No, thank you]

Gear swapping was a great part of Final Fantasy 11, it gave you so much more to do, to gather so much gear and optimize your chracter even more. and also made ff 11 unique.
GEAR SWAP YES PLEASE.!!!!!!! if you do not like it Gtfo...
This if not FFXI. Instead of telling people to leave FFXIV because we don't like certain aspects of FFXI, maybe you should just go back to the game you love so much and gear swap your days away.
We'll take it into consideration.™
You do know it's not wise to tell people to go play SE's successful MMORPG instead of sticking with this game, right? You do know Yoshida said in a recent interview that they're banking on the success of XIV's PS3 launch to save this game, right? Telling us to go back to XI is like telling SE "We don't care for XIV, focus on XI."
I'm all for gear swapping used to love my sorc ring procs, and my evasion gear etc etc
Added another layer of complexity to the game!
