Large houses can only be afforded by those selling Titan/EX runs

If this is not true, please tell me how you did it. (If you are not on a legacy server... because there were plenty of people there with saved gil)

If it is true... do you think that this is what Square and Yoshi-P intended?

When I came to Titan, its price on Odin server was 300k.
I just laughed and found random players to finish titan (mostly asked in chat smth like "can any highlevel guy help with Titan? ")
I was a tank, so I had only one spot in party, while any other class has at least 2 spots. Then I just made enough friends to kill Titan for 4 more relics.

But know what? If someone doesn't want to try things like random or friends, why they just can't buy a run?
They waste other guys time just because they can't do Titan without them. Time = money. If player accepts this way and gives money for run, it's normal in terms of economics. Like mercenaries. So I guess this is what SE looked deep into along with other aspects of economics, and I see nothing wrong with this.

Housing is not what SE wanted to make for fun, this is perfect money-burner. If there will be content with high cost which will affect game balance, then the best way to destroy people's bug/sold money is to burn it in houses. Then the new content will be equal for all the players in terms of money - some FC will burn 100kk, some - 5kk. The result is: 2 FC with no money

Looks like you're in a big FC so making money shouldn't be an issue. Are your members donating gil? Are you organizing gil making events?

My FC consists of just a handful of players. We do not sell any type of run mainly due to the fact we don't even have enough lvl 50 players. Earning gil from the Market Board was really our only choice. Also, only 3 of 8 members in our FC contributed 95% of the gil.

The design of FC-lots was fairly simple. The larger the guild, the more dedicated and the more coordinated the Free company the easier it was to obtain large lots. However, this did not rule out small FC's like mine. We had to do x10 the amount of work but it is possible WITHOUT doing any type of run selling.

I see the most dedicated FC's with FC-lots atm. Very few of the large casual guilds who mass recruit actually have any of the medium or large lots.

30 active players, we bought ours on first day. Literally spent entire days grinding spirit bonding gear and running the materia market and a good chunk of the high level crafting market early on in ARR's lifespan.

It is possible to get a large house without selling Primal runs. How you ask? Check out your marketboard and analyze where you can efficiently make profit (I say this because each server will differ slightly). Our FC started making 2 Star HQ items post 2.1 so we didn't get to sell them at high prices, however, we still managed to get a large FC house so it is possible. Treasure maps are also good alternatives. Just don't give up and keep on making that gil! Best of luck to you!

Unfortunately, this is it, and you even said it directly. In "early on in ARR lifespan" crafting was tremendously profitable, as well as gathering and almost everything. However now there is nearly no way to make money, especially on the scale of being able to afford a house, other than big "sells" like Extremes and T5. And very likely the people affording the several mil for those runs are RMT buyers.

Other than they, legacy servers had people hording money and its kind of screwing everyone else who just picked up the game in 2.0 AAR.

1 - There is a small number of large houses, so it is not supposed to be affordable to everyone. It is supposed to be bought by a few
2 - It is possible to make loads of money without selling primal runs. I personally earn between 1M and 3M per week (which all go to my FC), and we are several guys doing so. We hope to be able buying a big house, and we don't sell runs, we're just above average at trading. Btw I'm on a legacy server, but we all started with V2. I personally started in december and didn't profit of the release effect

My FC and I made 70% of our chunk post 2.1.

You are on the cheapest server... your input only counts by half at best. Just saying.
