    Last Minute Loot Reward Rules...

Anyone ever come across a cool party finder or private group whether it is for Coil or Primals and it is going really well. No one mentions looting rewards at the beginning or even includes it inside the description of the party finder group. By the time it comes to the end to claim loot rewards, however, the Party leader randomly says one of the following:

"Oh, this is a greed party."
"Oh, that item belongs to player X in the party."
"Please donate that item to player X in the party."
"Oh, you guys cannot need/greed on that item because I need it and I made this party."
"You have to greed if you want that specific item only, no needing."

When you or someone else in your party hits the need button before or after write one of the above statements, however, the party leader/player x in party gets mad at you/other person in party and kicks/blacklists/reports/harasses you.

This happened to my friend last night in her Coil run, and she wasn't too happy about it. She didn't want to click the need button to avoid the awkwardness from others in the party who were just as surprised as she was when the party leader made some last minute loot rule. The party leader made no mention of how the party finder loot works at the beginning (only that it was a newcomers welcome party) and essentially said the last option in the above statements previously mentioned after the boss was dead.

What are your thoughts? Would you normally just need regardless in a case like this? Or would you rather need and be called a ninja by your fellow party members who will likely kick you out and slander your character name for not obeying the party leader's last minute loot rule? Or obey the last minute loot rule like my friend did to avoid awkwardness?

If it wasn't predecided, I would have needed if it was loot that I could use for that class and greeded if it was loot I need for an alt. If they gave me flack, I would Blist the lot and move on. I don't want to play with people like that anyway.

If it's and upgrade and you can need on it....you need on it. End of story.

Thoughts? It doesn't make sense. Any rules should be made clear before you start playing.

    Rules about loot

I think the need/greed rolls handle it all fairly. It's random One time I had a treasure map and needed the potash in it cuz I'm a weaver, well some guy we recruited through party finder for a multi-player treasure map party needed it too. He got it, I didn't. I was a bit annoyed cuz I was the one who found the map. But I didn't say anything and got over. If more than one person needs on something and one rolls higher they get it. Figure there will be other times.

I did pre-arrange with a friend not to select need if the vest for his smn came up my first time in ct. He had been trying for weeks. He didn't demand it. I was just happy to get into ct for my first time and I could understand his frustration. In the end I still got smn boots cuz he already had them. But unknowns dropping rules on ppl with threat of negative actions isn't right. The need/greed/pass system is fair and should always handle it.

Would have to agree. If the rules were not set out before the loot dropped that is the party leader's own fault. Your friend Needed a piece they obviously could use and there is no fault in that, that's how the system currently works and Square specifically made it that way on purpose. If you aren't on that specific job to obtain the loot you won't have the option of Needing, end of story.

    It's not that I forget, it's just that I don't care.

If you're pugging, it should be free for all.

Our static OT runs SCH for Turn 2 so we always tell any PUG we might pick up that he gets to Greed alone on any T2 tank drops he needs. We also explain that the static members have priority though we normally are PUGing the BRD and none of us have 50BRD yet so our PUG BRDs wind up happy a lot. Making up BS rules just because your loot or your friends' loot dropped is BS and I would roll on the item.

Loot rules (if any) should be agreed upon at the start.

Killing a boss then claiming rules is like calling dibbs for the front seat of a car as it's leaving, just ignore it.

    Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
