The other day I joined an AK party in progress on my girlfriend's WHM, where the party was stuck on Demon Wall. All I found was 2 horribly underequipped BLMs (running a mix of green/white gear and AF1 pieces, one had a crafted ILvl 55 weapon, the other one was running a white iLvl 49 weapon), shortly after that a relic PLD joined. On the wall we lost the better equipped BLM on the first repel and still managed to beat this encounter, mainly because PLD and me went DPS as much as possible. We did have to kill the bees though.

There's honestly no shame in spamming Wanderer's Palace and gearing your item level from the ilvl 55s that drop in there and the philosophy to buy Darklight gear. AK is a lot easier when you have a few pieces under your belt and are out of your AF gear.
