Our stalwart forum veteran, Rentahamster found some updated information from the SE Dev Team, posted last night on the JP Forums. I think it's pretty exciting news, and since it got completely washed away in the flame-fest that is the original thread, I figured we should let everyone know in a new thread, that's interested in the R50 Dungeon's difficulty.

The upcoming dungeons are estimated to be, in a nutshell, "really hard". I also confirmed the dungeon boss's difficulty with the dev team.
If you ever hope to defeat The Dzemael Darkhold dungeon boss, you will need to clearly assign roles amongst your specialized party of 8 rank 50 players. Furthermore, you can't just think of the boss as just a strong version of an ordinary monster. You will need to use special, boss-specific strategies to achieve victory.
I haven't played it myself yet, but I am looking forward to it

Hopefully they tie it into the Grand Companies and their Reputation / Rank System, and we get enough reason to go back to it again and again and explore alternate paths, gain more Points / Reputation / Rank to unlock more stuff.
