    maybe if they give us random non-scripted fights you may have a reason to think we need a change for this way animations work. stop being bad, learn the way it works, plan when you will use said skills in a fight (i.e. there is almsot always a part with alot of thins going on which you should just already have HG up so you dont die when healers are healing others.. no reason to wait till i;m about dead to hit the skill... plan the fight and be proactive...)

    give random non-scripted fights and maybe animation delay starts to become an issue... otherwise stop being bad and QQing

    That awesome moment when you use either an an ability, offensive or defensive CD and the animation cuts short in the last MICROSECOND it goes on cooldown and it's not applied at all, just annoys me to no end.

    This happens to me quite a few times.

    Someone, correct me if I'm wrong but I assumed that this glitch happens when the latency becomes lagged or a hiccup in the internet.

    Yeah, this only happens to me when I get the shortest of lag spikes. It really sucks when I pop Thrill of Battle or Vengeance, get a quarter-second lag spike, and nothing happens.

    Some of you are not understanding. I never said I couldn't execute things well in the fights and I never said it was causing me to be unable to beat anything in the game. It's the opposite; Since they have these handicaps in the game, they have dumbed down the content to make up for it. All other MMOs have boss abilities you HAVE to interrupt or you wipe, and the cast times are less than 1/2 a second on some, making it all about how fast you can hit the button(AKA skill). FF14 doesn't have that, there's not a fight in the game that you absolutely HAVE to interrupt or you wipe, they don't put it in any real "skill based" mechanics like this because the game doesn't allow for instant reaction. I'm sorry, but if you can't see what the game would be like without this animation lock handicap, then you've never played a game without it. This game isn't turn based. Oh, and just because 1.0's animation lock was worse, doesn't mean the game doesn't still have it.

    There are something things that can work like that (PLD/BRD silence for instance which act outside of GCD).. what you're referring to though is more a function of how GCD works than the "classic" animation lock we had in 1.0 where you were rooted in place until the skill completed and which was most noticeable /w DRG jumps in 2.0.

    Yep, this. We've seen this in our raids too. We've even seen the combat log state that the tank was healed for all of his health, but the following line says he died anyway and beni is now on cooldown. Terrible!

    I enjoy the delay between CDs just like I did in FFXI. It adds some strategy to the game, rather than spamming buttons like some mindless FPS game. You have to time your abilities perfectly to the get the most out of them.

    Rather than complain about this feature, why not learn how to use it? This isn't a button-masher like lolWoW; you actually have to have some semblance of skill to play each job effectively.

    The animation delay (the delay before a skill actually registers) is annoying, however. So is animation lock during a LB.

    I wouldn't say remove it entirely but make the moves ability start at the beginning of the animation rather than the end. HG and Benediction come to mind. Also there is a slight delay before and after an animation that can be canceled. i.e during Butcher Block use Brutal Swing and you will see the last vertical hit of Butcher Block animation replaced with the starting animation of Brutal Swing.

    That being said the animations are coded in such a way that if you use Berserk and it ends during an animation it will still continue and register a hit. i.e if you see the first swing of Butcher Block animation it will still continue despite being pacified. I find this to be stupid as it completely bypasses the pacification and makes no sense ailment wise as pacification is supposed to stop any and all attacks if inflicted.
