I seem to recall reading that we will be able to ride other mounts while our chocobo is summoned in a future patch at some point, in addition to the ability to queue in DF while your chocobo is summoned. Not sure of the timing though. Here's hoping we see both in 2.2.

Geek moment: I wonder if, during those temporary mounts quests, it technically counts as "mounted" as far as the code is concerned? I wonder if it's a similar status effect to the Transparent and they just used the Mounted icon... {Hmm.}

I think having a chocobo out just disables the commands to use a mount.
