Vote kick/party finder/duty finder has serious problems.

So me and three of my friends went into praetorium for the first time and the other people got mad at us for watching the cutscenes and kicked us from the party at the last fight :/ We went through the whole dungeon and they were obviously annoyed that we were watching the scenes but they didn't do anything until we got to the last boss and one of my friends was vote kicked while we were still in the cutscene. Then I was mocked for complaining about them kicking our friend. Then I was kicked.

I wish there was an option in duty finder that you could click for being okay with cutscenes/story or new people. Party finder has problems in that it only works on your own server so there's never enough people willing to join first timer groups. I also wish there was a way to report people more easily for kicking you unfairly from the group. Or to at least send a report contesting the reason for being kicked.

This kind of stuff makes it really hard to want to continue playing this game.

I had this same issue my first time through Praetorium, although I opted not to be confrontational about it and just skipped my cutscenes. Still, it really aggravated me and I still feel really slighted by it. Why should somebody new to the very last quest in the main story, the climax to your adventure, be punished for wanting to see that story? The scenes take one, maybe three minutes tops. It's just not right that I had to put my own enjoyment aside because people are impatient, especially when those impatient people have the power to punish you as they see fit.

The problem is that people are selfish, impatient, and quick to abuse their ability to kick people. It would be nice if there were ways to ensure that new players can enjoy their content without having the selfish ones slap them down for it. Right now the best a new player can hope for is a Free Company that's willing to let you enjoy it, or that the majority of the other seven people are above being petty about it.

That's really sucks , we only can hope devs reading this "tonns" of threads , and already thinking about Vote Kick "rework" . Best solution for SE atm is just "turn off" this feature till fixed .

I am wishing so much for the kick system to be fixed. Getting kicked from Prae during our first run, when we were so excited for the climax of our story, was terrible.
I don't want this to keep happening to players going in their first time.
So many people play Final Fantasy for the story, people shouldn't be pressured into skipping it.
I worry that reporting the people that abuse the kick system will do nothing and those people will just continue to do it and ruin the experience for others in the process.
I have even seen comments of people already wanting to leave the game and some of these were as soon as the system was announced.
It seems that there are many players who saw this coming.

Krayzrs, I really hope you're not one of those idiotic douches that believe the roulette are for yourselves and not give a damn about the others. This goes to any impatience moron, if you want speed runs, use PF. PF is for that reason. DF/roulette is for players who are experiencing the game for the first time. The first time I did Praetorium, this was back in September, while the game was out, and I was disgusted that people were bitching about cutscene for they had already done it before. Me and another healer (Who was with me) told them to shove it or find another group and made them wait as we enjoyed the cutscene, heck, even the other healer took his sweet time watching the cutscene just to spite those rude dps that were moaning, but netherless group couldn't continue without us healers. This was before the votekick. Honestly, kicking someone out just because they are watching cutscenes is the most anal thing someone can do. My suggestions to those douchebags, get off this game and find another game to play if you can't be respectful and considerate to others. If you want speedruns, don't use Roulette at all.

SE needs to make it easier to report vote abuse, as there isn't really a way to do that. SE needs to have a prompt at the end for those who got kicked out to which they can click report abuse or not and SE can look into it and take actions.

I am a ps3 user, and I dread Praetorum because of the cutscenes. By the time I am finally able to skip......too late the fight starts. Now you can open a ticket about getting kicked out unjustly, but Square Enix won't do anything about it. Other than reply with a we're sorry letter. I saw an idea in these forums about a locked out of boss room till all done with cutscenes. I liked that idea. The whole point of the dungeon finder and roulettes was to help other progress through their story. I took a friend of mine through cm, and when it was over he asked "what just happened". I understand there are players wanting to speed run, but that ruins the experience that the cutscenes were supposed to provide. If you watch the cutscenes you are kicked or treated like crap. Yes this needs to be addressed asap, as right now it's a joke.

To expand on what I've already said (because it's late, I'm bored and have nothing better to do while the servers are down), I think the impatient mentality of a lot of players springs from the way the game is designed. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing comparisons to XI, but it's the best thing I have to go on at this point so bear with me here. Everything about this game is, for better or worse, much faster paced. Gear, quests and levels come and go much faster. I'm not going to begin arguing whether it's right or wrong for players to have more instant satisfaction because I could fill an entire thread with that, but... some people really need to break out of the "gotta do it fast, get my reward, go go go" mentality and just enjoy playing the game with other people. Is it really worth getting your tomes 15 minutes quicker if it ends up slighting another player? People need to take it slow. Stop and smell the Gashyl Greens, you know?
