I think they're fine. Most of them retain some plausibility. Some are super huge, some aren't.
The Bravura is a perfect size IMO.

in real life 2-hand battle axes are actually smaller than the small axes in game xD these super big axes are just for show, for an public execution perfect
This thread is funny. My Dread Axe looks just fine.
Well, the game kind of already betrays this notion by making a WAR a tanking job. More than ANY DPS job in the game, the flavor text behind WAR talks about blood 'n guts 'n rending your enemies and whatever, but in practice, WAR's job is to hold enemies in place and keep them from beating on your buddies. A ridiculously oversized axe just compounds the silliness.I think people are forgetting what a Warrior is here. A Warrior is an embodiment of wrath, rage, whatever. It's that rage that has them choose pure offense, and larger axes, which in a fantasy scene, has a much, much larger impact than smaller ones. The Titan axe is beautiful in size. When you swing it, it actually feels like you're swinging a weapon that is appropriate for what you are, a beast that destroys whatever is in it's path with ridiculous amounts of force, when you CHOOSE to.
LUDICROUSLY HUGE AXE ATTACK!!!
Itty bitty damage numbers...
WAR should've been a DPS job from the start, given the lore of them being bloodthirsty combatants thirsting for blood, but since they're not, huge weapons just make them ridiculous. A NIN poking an enemy with his cute li'l pigstickers should not be doing twice the damage a great axe swing does...
Though what you say does make a lot a sense... It will never work that only one job is a tank job, in a game where a Duty Finder/cross server method is predominate way of getting content done.
You'd be surprised how many WARs out dps the dpsWell, the game kind of already betrays this notion by making a WAR a tanking job. I support bigger axes. I support emperor fist weapons for monk. I support non baby sized shields for pld. I support less robe armor. (Seriously my war robe is longer than my sch lol what?) but mainly just make sure drk weapons are not realistic at all.
Realism in a fantasy game. That's the best joke I've heard today.
Pretty much none of the axes are logical sizes anyway. Real battle axe heads are quite tiny by comparison, even on two handed ones. The Axe sizes are normal. What is NOT normal is holding and swinging an axe larger than yourself. In a game that many things are not very logical and physics laws are totally broken let's at least have something that does make sense. I know it's a JRPG but this is one of the reason Western RPGs took over. They look more "realistic" compared to the Asian ones. You can make a fantastic world with fantastic creatures and magic without breaking too much physics laws and logical assumptions. Some axes are smaller than others and some are bigger than others but all are in the logical proportions. Perhaps its your gear that's too fat and makes the axe tiny.
