Kick fuction being abused, based on a "meter".

So I'm a healer, and im at CT, my party was nice overall, one of the other teams failling and our tank was being a douche about it. Just a regular, normal CT run... until we faced KB.


Our tank, was incredibly arrogant, and went directly to MT the KB, nothing wrong with that... I positioned myself and devoted myself to heal him and heal everyone nearby, the other healer positioned herself on the center in order to use medica II. Everything was going out just fine... until the tank of the other team looses the aggro of the Iron Gigant, it kills the other healer, I try to res her, and then res the other tank who also died, and well... we ended up wiping. We wipe like two or three times... and the blame game begins...

The last time we wiped..... something striked me from behind while I was healing the MT, I died.. the other healer wasnt enough to heal the MT, the MT dies and then we wiped... All of the suden the blame game begins but this time.. the MT was blaming me.. he said that I was doing only 30% of the healing while the other healer was doing 60%... then I asked how does he knows that... and he answers that he has a "meter"..... Then I said that the meter is wrong, because I have spaming heal to him... In fact I overhealed him and maybe his mete didnt "measured" the over heal..... He said that based on his meter I should be kicked since I was dragging everyone down.. then another DPS said that the other healer was dragging too much aggro and that the iron gigant going berserk was her fault...

We go one last time... and I said that if the "requisite" to stay in party was to get a good Rank at his meter, then ill heal the party while the WHM heals the MT...... the WHM runs out of mana (im a SCH, so I was able to spam heal on him), the MT dies, and he blames me for letting him die, while I was running to reach the whole party and heal the other members.

Then the voting begins... I talk to my team mates, and asked them to evaluate my performance based on what they saw... not what the "meter says"... and I was able to stay in the party.. The other WHM got kicked (I believe that was truly unfair). The other tank raged because I wasnt kicked.. and left...

Next time we go in... we succeed with flying colors... and we ended up the raid.. at the end I thanked my team members who didnt kicked me, and I commend one DRG who stood up for me , and I got some player commendations... We all aggred the the tank was a toxic player.


And here are some questions that are on my mind.

¿Whats this "meter" the tank was talking about?

I truly believe ppl shouldnt be using this to base their decitions about performance...
When the tank said I was doing poorly because I only did 30%, I was wondering that maybe it counts amount of "healing" done.. which means that spaming medica II would be better than spaming Succor (does less healing but puts a shield on), or even spaming an AOE heals, would it score "better" since it does more healing than just spaming heal to one person? Or maybe it dosent count when you are overhealing....anyway... I TRULY believe one person shouldnt kick another based on this "meter".


PD: I was going to post pics, but then I realized that even if the tank was being arrogant, he dosent deserve to be exposed in public... actually no one ever deserves that...

Parser. Shows how much you heal for, how much the DPS hits for, etc. People who use them in non-raid settings, especially in CT of all places, are morons. They're strictly for identifying problems that need to be worked on and brought up to improve the group's overall performance, not to blame someone for holding the group back and then vote kick them. The most you can do is report the tank for abusing the vote to kick feature, unfortunately.

Could be that he neglected to count your faerie's healing as part of your score? Either that or he was just pulling numbers out of his taint to get rid of the one he blamed for the fail. I'm leaning toward the latter.

I'd say it's because of the other healer was spamming Medica, as was mentioned. That's like WARs getting 250+ dps because they spammed Overpower on a bunch of mobs.

Those things are notoriously inaccurate.

just report the dbag that threw their parser in your face. im fine with parsers for close groups that want to fine tune their runs or for that person that really needs to know fancy numbers -_- but you know its gonna be a bad day when someone on chat even mentions a parser in df.

side note: i just so happen to get in a df run with 2 people with 2 different parsers with 2 different readings. i lol'd soooo well that night when they continued to act like baboons in mating season yelling and fighting over who's numbers were correct and who was doing well. i would never report them due to the fact they only threw feces at each other and the pure joy of seeing people fight over 20 imaginary numbers!

Is there really a point to meters for healers?
I understand dps should be constantly pumping dps,
but as a healer I try and save them (to save mp and get less aggro)
Am I supposed to be spamming heals to make myself look l33t on those meters (jking) =P

Kris in my experience over many MMOs they usually separate heals and overheals so you'll get a somewhat good idea. Anyway yeah report them it's an abuse of the kick system, not every single kick needs a forum thread discussing it, I'm sorry for your loss, etc, etc.
