This was an idea I had a couple nights ago during an Ifrit HM run. One of our tanks was decked out in full Odin armor along with his blade, and they got a lot of compliments about it (it was pretty damn cool to see, to be honest, haha). However, a lot of the people in the group mentioned how they'd only ever seen or fought Odin a few times since launch. So I thought: what if SE added an NPC in Gridania that would track Odin's respawn timer? Not in the sense of "Odin will return to the Shroud in 5 hours, 10 minutes, 43 second", but in approximations. Something along the lines of...
Odin is present
"The Dark Divinity rides again! Slay him before we are all doomed!"
Odin is slain/48(+)-24 hours until next spawn
"The Rider is no more, but I fear that we haven't seen the last of him..."
24-12 hours until next spawn
"The Twelveswood seems calm, but something feels amiss. I'm worried what the future will bring..."
...and their dialogue would change from 12-6 hours, then one more change during the last six hours to when Odin spawns. Then SE could possibly add a similar NPC to Dragonhead or Snowcloak to track Behemoth's spawn time in a similar fashion.
I realize that this takes away some of the mystery of wondering when they'll spawn, but at the same time it would be a nice way to get people who've never been able, or were never around in time, to participate in these FATEs. I'm also aware that it may make the FATEs even more packed than they usually are, but at the same time, people who have always participated in these FATEs still will, and most people who never bothered still won't, so the actual number of players participating won't change that much.
So do you guys think that this goes against the point of these FATEs, or that this idea would at least slightly improve these FATEs by giving more people a chance to participate?
