Adding an NPC to track Behemoth/Odin spawn times

This was an idea I had a couple nights ago during an Ifrit HM run. One of our tanks was decked out in full Odin armor along with his blade, and they got a lot of compliments about it (it was pretty damn cool to see, to be honest, haha). However, a lot of the people in the group mentioned how they'd only ever seen or fought Odin a few times since launch. So I thought: what if SE added an NPC in Gridania that would track Odin's respawn timer? Not in the sense of "Odin will return to the Shroud in 5 hours, 10 minutes, 43 second", but in approximations. Something along the lines of...

    Odin is present
"The Dark Divinity rides again! Slay him before we are all doomed!"

Odin is slain/48(+)-24 hours until next spawn
"The Rider is no more, but I fear that we haven't seen the last of him..."

    24-12 hours until next spawn
"The Twelveswood seems calm, but something feels amiss. I'm worried what the future will bring..."

...and their dialogue would change from 12-6 hours, then one more change during the last six hours to when Odin spawns. Then SE could possibly add a similar NPC to Dragonhead or Snowcloak to track Behemoth's spawn time in a similar fashion.

I realize that this takes away some of the mystery of wondering when they'll spawn, but at the same time it would be a nice way to get people who've never been able, or were never around in time, to participate in these FATEs. I'm also aware that it may make the FATEs even more packed than they usually are, but at the same time, people who have always participated in these FATEs still will, and most people who never bothered still won't, so the actual number of players participating won't change that much.

So do you guys think that this goes against the point of these FATEs, or that this idea would at least slightly improve these FATEs by giving more people a chance to participate?

I think Odin should be a 24 man duty with a weekly mantle lockout

I like both ideas present here, the npc, like in XI you could talk to npcs and they'll tell hint to you about certain going ons. Its nice for those players who might not be in an FC currently or in the zone its happening.

Now with the Arena system they talked about (we already kind of see it in play with the separate Ultima fight) we can fight bosses in an instance, and receive rewards for it, they talked about a Gilgamesh fight (hinting now to it actually). I would love if they took advantage of this style of system and had a 8-24 man Odin fight. Giving us an opportunity to actually enjoy Odin in a smaller setting, and learn his moves and such, add a little more storyline to it, tell us who Urth is maybe? Make the mantle still a rarer drop, maybe add a mount or something also, something with housing, whatever, I'm sure they can think up incentive.

Here is a post I made on this issue awhile back:

Make the quest reward the barter item, and allow the barter item to be turned in for a bit of myths to keep people coming.

This helps with a few problems:

    - People going weeks without seeing either simply because of their schedule.
    - Gives incentive to do it regardless of where they are at with character progression.
    - Allows for more stable open world content choices.
    - Spreads people out a bit by having multiple spawns a day while only receiving the barter reward from the quest once daily.

They could even introduce NPCs that give a vague update as to how close till they spawn. Ex:

Ishgardian NPC that let's you know the time window by what he says.

"The northwest wind has changed its direction. An ill omen indeed." - Behemoth will spawn in 3-4 hours
"The animals flee east. Do they know something we do not? " - Behemoth will spawn in 2-3 hours
"All is eerily quiet to the west. I sense a calm before the storm" - Behemoth will spawn in 1-2 hours
"Listen, adventurer! The mountains echo as if the heart of the mountain is beating" - Behemoth will spawn in 30min - 1 hour
"Our Scouts bring ill news! A behemoth has been sighted down the west passage!" - Behemoth will spawn in under 30min
I'd love to have an NPC that gave us any info at all about the bosses.

What I don't understand is why he is even 24-48 hr spawn. He should be at most every 5 hours. His items are all garbage and vanity anyway so why the long spawn times?

No. Its casual content that's being locked away behind "hardcore" gating. The gear is meant for people to enjoy as vanity trophy items. They serve little to no function then looking unique and are not upgrades mechanically to anything. So why the long wait time that forces people to HNM like camp them? Its like for example taking all the I95 weapons out of coil Turn 5 and replacing them with Unique looking I50 weapons that look nice but are easily replaced by running a run of WP.

I think it would be great if they did this. I've always liked the idea of having Odin/Behemoth's FATEs be an entrance into a instanced battle, but having a different version (if only in scale) be around would also be nice. Having Odin's Mantle and Behemoth's Horn be rare drops from the fight would certainly be nice, as well as incorporating a bit more story into at least the Odin fight.

Everything related to Odin/Behemoth is pointless as long as they keep it as an inconvinient FATE with horrible lags and mass DC's.

They should keep it as a fate, but make it more active and multi-staged. maybe a buff for beating him.
