So I might have missed it in my search but is there a place in game that explains how Burning Wall came to be?

The very same area of Eastern Thanalan was actually called The Burning Wall in Version 1.0; the name just fits a little better now, lol. It's a crash site from a chunk of Dalamud, hence the over-aspected crystalline aether monstrosity and mirrorknights. According to one of the main scenario quests, a lot of the over-aspected crystal in the area is wind aspected, but in a chaotic state. The area was actually an aetherial gate in Version 1.0, which might explain the sheer size of the thing. Dalamud fragments already make the aether behave strangely; drop a giant chunk of it on an aetherial gate... I guess the Burning Wall is what happens?
If you go exploring at The Burning Wall sometime, look around closely - there's hidden fragments of the Allag tech hanging around... (X30Y27, for one)
An entrance to something someday, perhaps... Dunno.

Thanks, I was assuming that it was caused by a chunk of Dalamud, but couldn't confirm it, since none of the other chunks (La Nocea, Shroud) caused something like the burning Wall. Atherial gate explosion makes sense.
Yeah, the 1.0 map of Thanalan clearly has that section marked as the Burning Wall too, meaning the name definitely preceded the Calamity (and that weird crystalline structure resulting from the impact of that chunk of Dalamud). My guess is it is meant to have some connection to other metaphors for fire and the sun that are found all throughout Thanalan (such as Azeyma's glyph on the ancient Bel'hadian ruins like the Invisible City, and the Red Labyrinth in Southern Thanalan), possible given the fact fire is an important part of both Ul'dahn and amalj'aa culture.
Pardon me
Burning Wall is the place that Golden Fleece is living? not sure xD
Yes, that's the place. Interestingly enough is the Allag tech you can catch glimpses of. I've heard speculation it's another entrance into the Binding Coil, unearthed by a piece of Dalamud falling. Whether that's true or it's something else entirely really raises the question of "Dalamud fragments + Allag Tech = what?"
I can't see the answer to that equation being good, at all. Let's hope we find out later, rather than sooner.
Dalamud is Allagan tech! Some of the Binding Coil of Bahamut takes place inside Dalamud. A few of those "blades" fell over Eorzea, you can see them when Dalamud cracks in the final v1 movie/first half of ARR's opening movie. If you look at the zone names and contraptions inside the Binding Coil, you'll probably realise that the Allagan technology was even more advanced than you had imagined...Yes, that's the place. The Allagan Empire was highly advanced - it was mentioned repeatedly in the main story that their level of technological sophistication exceeded even the current level of the Garlean Empire, which is nothing to sneeze at. But as Cid noted, for all their scientific and technological advances, it didn't stop their inevitable collapse. The fact that the only known Allagan ruins remaining in Eorzea are the Royal Allagan Sunway and Starway roads leading to and from Ul'dah says a lot, other than the Crystal Tower and the related ruins that surrounded it which are currently being excavated, that is.
If you look on the map in the Burning Wall there's a clear pathway marked leading INTO the fragment of Dalamud but it is blocked off by some cleverly placed crystals. The area is definitely intended as the entrance to something, though whether that is a new section of the Binding Coil is unknown.Yes, that's the place.
