Another victim to accidental Relic abanonding

And guess which stage I abandoned at!

THE PART WHERE I NEEDED OIL!

Quite literally THE END of the entire quest, and I accidentally deleted it when clearing out unwanted Levequests (I was levelling Miner and accidentally took out the Combat Leves).

Why, Square.... Why? Restoring quest progress isn't something they can do, so I need to start again. Why make the Relic quest abandonable? There's lots of quests out there you can't abandon.
Why make the interface snap back to the first quest in your quest log every time you delete a quest?
Sure we have to read them to make sure we're deleting the right ones, but mistakes are gonna happen. And this isn't a simply "Woopsies" mistake, this is a "WEEKS OF HARD WORK AND TONS OF GIL WASTED" mistake.

They need to break the Relic quest chain up into separate quests.

I do feel sorry for you and wish there was a way for you to fix it.
But blaming SE over it is pretty silly, as you said you made a mistake by not reading... And that mistake costed you some time... Next time - read. Problem solved...

And just to make you feel better, relic quest don't take that long to do, I did all relic quests on 1 character and after I got the hang of it, took me a day or two (like 5 hours of gameplay a day?) per relic quest, and that's while playing casually...

So not the end of the world, and not SE's fault and nothing so bad really happened... Just start over...

also why relic quest can be abandon?maybe someone will mistakenly take other job relic quest and dont want to make mess with their quest log

I can feel your pain. It doesn't make things better for you but there are many peeps who have lost the progress of the Relict quest without abandoning it due to a quest bug. While you can blame yourself in the 1st place, the rest waits since months for a fix from SE but all there really is, is Silence. Oh I know it's my fault, but I also feel that Square is leaving something important open to being abandoned. I mean there's no safety net outside of "are you sure"?
If they broke the quest into separate quests for each stage or changed the interface to NOT select the first quest on your quest list once you abandoned a quest a lot fewer people would suffer this issue.

Well it's endless. There is always room for improvement UI-wise... But I kind of think they spoon feed us enough as it is with all the warnings and lockouts this game has... ( > . >

Since there are plenty of experienced players online now, you can clear relic reborn quest with pug quite easily, unlike back in Aug/ Sep last year. I know it sucks, but it is easier now.

I wish this was true. After 3 weeks of titan HM pugs, I gave up and found a guild who boosts players.
Did it in 1 run with no deaths :|

It was amazing the difference between pugged runs and expert runs...
