As sch I've started adding fairy heals to both stoneskin and adloquium. A fully topped of tank with both on him before pulls in HM dungeons is pretty great. I take sch to roulette instead of whm ever since hitting 50.

You're doing it wrong... I run my FC with double SCH through T1-4 weekly... heals are fine. A note of, That Selene (skill/spell speed)!
I constantly hear White Mage's complain that they're under powered compared to SCH.
"What good is AoE heals when everyone is on point and never takes damage besides tank"
That's why whm still has damage cross skills ...to cover the boredom if no one is dying lolz
I do feel that the more people are geared up, the less mitigation is needed and the less scholar becomes effective. 2whm can do anything.

True, but Sacred Soil only lasts 15s compared to Shadow Flare lasting 30s. I mainly use Sacred Soil to mitigate burst unavoidable damage (Titan's stomps or geocrush, all primals' ultimate moves) and use Shadow Flare for general purpose mitigation so I can save aetherflow charges for Lustrate.Small addendum to that: You can't have Sacred Soil and Shadow Flare up at the same time. However, Shadow Flare is still an excellent tool to throw up when you can't use Sacred Soil (Out of charges, or it's on cooldown), or if the tank is facing a swarm of mooks, where the damage may help as well.
Another thing you can do if there are two SCHs in a party is to have one throw up Shadow Flare while the other throws up Sacred Soil. It's a nice combo I think (But anyone can feel free to prove me wrong)
As others have said, SCH isn't a bad job. SCH is actually preferred in some instances because of their damage mitigation. As a WHM myself, the best setup in my opinion is to have a WHM and a SCH together because they compliment each others abilities. WHM cures for higher amounts and has a good AOE heals with Medica, Medica II (, and Cure III in some instances), as well as two heal over time spells to increase survivability of party members and allow us to more readily focus on the tanks with bigger cures.
SCH can put up damage mitigation on the entire party with Succor I believe, as well as a stronger one on single targets with Aldo (and crits put a very strong shield up). The fairies are also key to SCH healing prowess, you essentially have another healer casting cure/physic on party members, alleviating some stress on the healers in the group. Plus, depending on the pet, the party can get +spell/skill speed, regen, and a couple other buffs from the fairies.
