And to clarify, I meant it was the first time I have ever dropped out of CT. I happened to be in the tank role.

Yes, CT is a cesspool of immaturity.
However, as others have stated, first try to have a thick skin and if it gets really bad take a snapshot and report the offenders.
If nobody does anything about people behaving in such a way then they will continue behaving as such. If we want SE to put a stop to it, we need to let them know about it.
Also, I posted this in another thread but I felt it was appropriate here as well.
Some things that people can do to help mitigate the CT hate.
- If you are new, SAY SO, it will show even if you try to hide it. Sure some people will be douches about it but many others will be helpful and understanding.
- Don't try to go straight into CT after hitting 50 and being in just AF gear without a relic or primal weapon. Run some high lvl dungeons and primal hm's, get some darklight gear and at least the ifrit weapon. This is especially true if you are a tank. People will make snap judgements based on your equipped gear and its good to get some practice in with harder content first.
- Rein it in. You may be used to be going all gung-ho in previous dungeons but CT requires some coordination with the group as a whole, so communicate (politely) and if you are unsure about anything, just ask.
- Leave your ego in Mor Dhona. If your ego flares up it will cause others to react in kind leading to a giant ego pissing match ragefest which will just end with people being kicked or leaving and ultimately a failed run. Really this applies to everything, not just CT.
You know while I totaly agree with the above its double edged, lots of people will be thinking "He could at least guet an ifrit weapon" while other will think "ohh snap, he could have made an effort & get something higer then an ifrit weapon.."
The mentality is terrible mainly for things like that.. Also, DL gear are out of fashion now, most people believe they should get stuff in CT straigth when they hit 50. I personaly farm what I want for my next Lv50 on my jobs iLv80+ that way I contribute to the success of my PT & I can farm what I need.
Today my pt kicked me and someone else, they kicked him for being new. they kicked me for defending him, So what if he's new? take 20 seconds to explain the goddamn thing(Which i did)
These people deserve to get a duty finder ban for atleast a week, Seriously i loathe this community(Not just the XIV community but the gaming community in general) Most games have way to many ignorant idiots just ruining the game, they act like they are god they NEVER make a mistake and NEVER had to learn something,
God just a few days ago in CT, we had this horrible tank( i was also tanking) i helped him out by taking the hate of him because i saw the healers were busy. He got pissed off and voted to kick me(Btw this happend on him 10 minutes prior to this and he died, so i figured i'd help him out and we won that fight w/o a wipe)
OMFG! WE WIPED! Abandon this duty we are doomed! God sake...
@Touchandfeel . . . yours is post of the day, IMO!
Well, I wish it was so that each run of CT was like tonight (or - heaven forbid - better):
Alliance A - little stinky at the beginning, but no wipes. Same with B and C. People made it known in alliance chat their group wasn't ready....and no one pulled. From any group. Called "ready" and pulled almost like clockwork. Adds were dealt with smoothly in all bosses, Giants were kept under control and never missed, meteors were in place and not in tornadoes or destroyed by giants, aggro wasn't faught over amongst tanks (not even on skulls that pop on dragon)....I mean, I forgot I was in CT there for a little bit. Hell, even on atmos, adds were swiftly pulled away and dealt with too.
So, please, Almightly CT gods, may this happen many more times in the near future to come.
And for any who read this that were there, thanks! It was about 11:55p - 12:35a EST US. Hats off to a well played CT with NO problems (at least none noticeable to affect our kicking some a$$)
Can't edit from phone, but above "stinky" was supposed to be "shakey"
To be fair, not all people are like this and I for one try to be as helpful as possible in any dungeon, which probably reflects why I have so many commendations > you will get some good runs and some bad runs, just try to ignore.
Also, if you don't want to get flamed every time, please watch a YouTube or video online of the dungeon first where you can learn the basic functions of it and learn the rest as you go along, it is how I started.

Only one will be triumphant

I question the notion of being forced to watch a video before people allow someone to join and attempt the fight. Yes, it's to minimize liability, but it seems so silly that every major fight now is "Video or don't bother"To be fair, not all people are like this and I for one try to be as helpful as possible in any dungeon, which probably reflects why I have so many commendations > you will get some good runs and some bad runs, just try to ignore.

True, i haven't watched a single video(not for guides anyways) Always just jump in, ask what do i need to watch out and i adept. I'm a very quick learner and usually on the 2nd try i've got things down.
Sure some people might like it but its not for me.
