I must've been lucky my first time. I did have someone in Alliance tell me I was trolling when I hadn't been on the switch thing for the Atomos fight, but when I responded that I hadn't been told (after telling my party I was new) and that I wouldn't make the same mistake, everything was fine. Even had the same person explain the King Behemoth and Ascheron fights.

Crystal tower has brought out the worst in people. Too many people taking their runs far too serious, too many getting mad for the slightest hickups. Zero tolerance for newcomers and zero will to explain the tactics for new players. In the beginning, where everybody was new to the dungeon, the culture was a tad different and better imo. Most leaders of each alliance asked if new people are aboard and if people know the fights. They asked if everybody is ready and in case somebody DC'ed, they waited till a replacement arrived. Just a few weeks later, everybody seems to expect that each player knows all the fights in and out. Nobody waits but starts the fight at free will. If somebody of your group disconnects, it's no reason to wait. Instead they bitch after the fight that DPS was not enough lol.

And then the competetive part....after each fight you hear sentences like "Group XYZ wins" "Group XYZ has a dmg/heal/tank problem". Some even dish out the results from their parser program to blame others directly for making "less dmg than everybody else". Players have somehow turned into judges. I bet in 2014 editions of dictionnaires, you see Crystal tower as a further explanation of Intolerance lol.

Other alliance wiped on Atomos twice.... the result, our alliance leader vote abandonned..... it passed, and i was exited, when i voted no.... we were 40 minutes into the dungeon and i was left with nothing.... went to requeue..... at 46 mins, i gave up and went to bed.... soooo NO LOOT, and more importantly no TOMES last night.... because an impatient group decided to vote abandon against my will to continue... due to 2 wipes by another group

The problem is that 2 alliances cannot votekick a third alliance which is trolling. There is no recourse but to vote abandon at that point. If it were possible to votekick a trolling alliance there would be much less trolling in CT.

On the one hand you do need to be able to take some criticism. This includes the random derp who has decided they are gods gift to DPS. On the other hand there is a limit as to what is acceptable in my eyes. Realistically if they truly are that aggrovating eat the timer for ditching the run, and if you feel you have enough to get them spoken to hit up a GM. The community at large is as bad as you let it be. Find yourself a group of folks you like playing with, and enjoy it. If you're dependent on random PUGs ALWAYS, unfortunately those are regularly far too critical of someone not doing something JUST right. YMMV, but your playing for fun, remember that, and adjust as needed so that it stays that way.

I had a terrible CT run last night, where one alliance was harassing a tank in my alliance. I reported them, as did a few of others in my alliance, and was contacted by the GMs before I'd even logged off for the night.

SE does care and is investigating, if you take the time to report. A tip the GM told me that it makes investigation easier if you look the character up on the Lodestone that way you can add that too the report and they can know which server that the person came from.

I know of other people who have been given a temporary ban for their first infraction, including people who change into event gear like the Reindeer outfit instead of wearing appropriate gear.

If the person or persons are being that harassing, I would recommend reporting them. Nothing can be done by SE if they aren't told about it.

I've seen someone blast a tank for no reason, Guy was doing fine and suddenly they dropped insults like retard. So I blew up on that guy and he left. Honestly - people have foul attitudes sometimes and its a shame.

I used to have problem in CT until I started doing them on Monday/ Tuesday. A lot more experienced people who just wanna get their gear and be done for the week. Quick and easy runs.
