    Graphic/Screen lag & crashing.

At random times my game will start to slow down for several seconds or else at times it will freeze then crash. This is on two different systems

i7-2600k, Gigabyte AMD Radeon 6850 on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
i7-2600k, MSI Nvidia GTX 670 on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

As such I'm able to say it's not an isolated incident to just one type of graphics vendor. It would be highly unlikely both systems are at fault somehow as a couple others in my free company are also experiencing this issue periodically.

Both of my systems report normal cpu and gpu temperatures without any unusual spikes when this occurs. I've tried messing with the graphics settings by turning them down in game but the problem persists. It also does not make any sense that I had no issues whatsoever until 2.15 patch.

    From the Radeon 6850 machine.

    Error message upon it crashing.

Since 2.15 I've crashed well over a dozen times on both machines from this issue on a daily basis.

Edit: The problem is becoming worse in that instead of simply lagging the screen for a moment or crashing altogether, the game will experience the screen lag without reverting to its normal state and I must then force close the client.

I'd like to chime in and say I've been having this issue as well. Previous to 2.1, I would get the issue usually after long periods of playtime (4+ hours), and would prone to crash to desktop especially if I moved around during the lag or moved the camera. With 2.1, It would still start happening after long play times, but would no longer crash every time and would be able to recover.

Since 2.15, this freeze up has been happening quite often (tonight after 2 hours of playtime). While the game never crashed, the game would freeze up whenever anything big was happening on screen (Behemoth's Meteor attack in Crystal Tower). It would also cause NPC, enemies and player characters to no longer render and become invisible. (The Iron Giant turned into just a floating sword.)

This is running an i7-2600K with an AMD 6950 on the latest driver release (13.12). Like Novio, this happens to me on a regular basis, so if there are any steps you would suggest to take, settings to change, or any log files to generate to help isolate the cause, I would be happy to test this.

Yes!!! Precisely, I'd forgotten to add that bit about enemy model issue. Once the lag/freeze occurs the enemy remains targetable but their bodies go invisible.

For whatever strange reason I've been able to fix this by running in a different screen mode; borderless window as full screen at a normal resolution of 1920x1080.

Prior to this I was using an odd customized resolution (1820x830 -- yes there were black bars on the sides during cutscenes since this is not a standard) and ran in windowed mode ever since early access. I used that resolution since I prefer being able to quickly access whatever other processes I run in the background such as checking my email and so on. When I reverted to the resolution I just mentioned the problem would reoccur. It still stands that something within 2.15 started the issues for me with the custom resolution in windowed mode.

I hope for anyone that has had this happen to them and they too possibly use a non standard resolution that this may fix your problems.
