For me (other types of motion sickness may differ), I get motion sickness when I am not in control of my motion.

When I drive a car or other types of local motion (like bicycles or snow boarding), I don't get motion sickness because my brain knows the direction I'm going. But when I ride in a car with someone else driving, I get motion sickness within the first couple minutes. Same thing goes for when I'm in an elevator or escilator. When I play video games, when I press movement keys, my brain knows that I want to go certain direction so it interprets the depth as normal. But when I play turn 4 in the binding coil of bahamut, my brain understands my characters position, but I guess it doesnt understand the movement of the background. The eyes see that the elevator is going down, but I guess when the data transfers from my eyes to my brain, the info gets lost in translation.

As for resolution, I play at the minimum settings with all spell effects off (because flashing light particles also seem to give me vertigo). The screen size I run at is 1200x720 and 30 hz.

Anyway, I don't mind side quests affecting my motion sickness because they are avoidable, but I would like to request that these types of missions not be in the story line. (Please change story mode levithan so that it can be playable for those in my disposition)
