For those suggesting camera angles and such, I have tried every different view angle possible, but as a tank for turn 4, I have to grab the knight, soldier, dreadnought where they fall which is up against the arena walls. There isn't a view aspect where I don't see the background moving. Luckily, like Coils isn't a story mission, so I don't mind so much.

I actually support some changes to the game to accommodate this condition. I was just offering some tips to maybe help in the meantime. That said, I do suffer some mild disorientation from time to time. Not during elevator fights, but when I have sudden drops in elevation; like when I'm doing my Amalj'aa dailies and decide to take a shortcut. I've been that way for years, and I just never learn to avoid cliffs!

That said, I found an interesting Reddit article talking about how changing the Field of Vision might help. The last comment had a screenshot with some directions for a recommended change. Maybe that could help?

I have trouble with the 2 Chimera fights in game. I can't tell the difference between their blue and their violet but with focus target and watching the cast bar I do ok. I just look for the work Ram or Dragon and know which way to go.

example: On Turn 4, my motion sickness gets me really bad. I still force my self to finish the run, but I have to take a lot of medication. The reason for this, The background is an elevator, and its constantly moving downwards. And no matter what I do, I cannot completely remove the background from my field of vision. I play a main tank for my static, so even if I look straight down, its still somewhere in my vision. If possible, please have a way to turn the background into a non-moving wallpaper or something.
Just focus your sight on the mobs you re tanking (looking straight down is a good idea even if you don't have motion sickness anyway), your action bars (to know if your CD are available) and the small aggro interface on the left of your screen (to know when the next set of mobs will spawn) and you should be fine.

Sometimes motion sickness is a simplified term for a problem that is more psychological.

    http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/176198.php
"About 33% of people are susceptible to motion sickness even in mild circumstances such as being on a boat in calm water, although nearly 66% of people are susceptible in more severe conditions. "

OP, what u are describing is psychological. U should not be having motion sickness when sitting on a chair doing these fights.
I advise u to visit a psychologist, it should help. I don't mean this in any bad way, it's just advice, I know a friend with the same thing and he improved afterwards. Trust me and good luck.
I'm a neurologist by the way

Does anyone else have trouble in Southern Thanalan on those "hazy" days? There seems to be a heat mirage effect and it really throws me off.

Otherwise I actually have turned down a lot of my graphics settings. It helps break the 'immersion' (and my computer can't handle it).

I find myself getting a bit ill playing as archer, running around mobs. No problems as summoner.
