    The Real Issue with FFXIV

The problem is not the "Difficulty" or "Elites v Casuals", it's "Isolation". There are thousands of players on a server, but we are forced into groups of 4-8. This causes "Discrimination" against players you never partied with or those who failed to impress you on their initial attempt. You then enter most PUGs with the mentality that unless you have "Core People" you will "Fail".

The content is not large enough to support the amount of players you want to keep satisfied. My view is that; Coil should have never been turn locked to begin with. Loot locked? maybe, Alliance based? yes.

Why? because it falls back to "Isolation" and players partying exclusively with a smaller player base. The problem is not Coil's difficulty or gear requirements, the majority of casuals lack experience because the elites "Can't" take the time to train them. Elites are then forced to level Alts to help out when the game was supposed to be designed for you to be efficient with one character.

Elites make tutorial videos to watch and pray casuals catch on, but it will not replace in game experience. Then we have to delve into learning curves which another topic in itself. This process forces casuals to isolate each other by skill and the cycle repeats making it an elite v Casual or Pro v Noob issue when it could be solved if the content was more community friendly. Now Devs have to waste time dumbing content down instead of creating new content.

TLDR; The games direction and design are severely flawed forcing players to invest through "Time Sinks" rather than actual "Progressive Game Time".
