Should FFXIV Remain In Open Development?

'Offer people who bought the game another free SE game, Allow current players to join a closed beta server and re-release the game with entirely new content in about 8 months or so on the PS3 and PC.'

I like it.

We are in beta, everyone knows it, so SE should just make it official. It would stop the slow bleed of players and the increasing DOOM cycle. Players who remain as beta players would have a clear mission and perspective on the game. This would translate into better attitudes and those plaeyrs would be helping to actually improve the game rather than just whining about everything.

Also, the clean break would really allow this game to have a fresh start. Currently, with the slow trickle of improvements, it will be hard to convince players that there is a point at which we should be paying monthly fees.

Release them all at once and you have a big event and a real marketing opportunity.
