I don't know the answer to any of those questions.

I'm also moving in a month, so in all likelihood my new ISP is going to route differently; it won't be Comcast. I know I have to use like Battleping or Pingzapper at least until I leave here, but I figured I'd just spam this thread with daily trace routes. I don't want SE thinking it's all good and close it.

I replaced that second one with one that I did right after which lost more packets; but it typically always looks like those. One or two times just now I got a clean trace with 40ms across the board... if only it would stay that way.

It's interesting that all of your tracerts are showing montreal as the problem.
I wish I had run some myself last night, but this is the first time that it's been really bad for me and I couldn't figure out what was going wrong.
