though i do like this idea, i think cosmetics for someone that spent a month or 2 doing say cop missions over the dude who rank 50 ran threw it real quick in a few days is a bit on the weak side. i'm thinking more on the lines where we at the least get hq3's for that. or materia that has a depletion rate so they are lost after awhile, like +10stat, or +10block rate materia that will deplete after a few months of having it equipped.
though anything is better then nothing, the real prize is at least having all caped missions and quests. this i'd just love to see anyway.
in reality, there is 3things to do in a mmo, grind levels, endgame and these quests and missions/story. i would like the devs to consider making this challengiing. ...don't count mini games they add cause no one does them and they are never fun for more then 5minutes, the fun part is getting the permits and accomplishing the quests to be able to do those said mini games, then those games die out completely.

I like this idea, with more risk comes greater rewards, or defeat.
I'm all for a "level - sync" option placed on the dungeon run, that would allow the party leader to set it or leave it be. However, once set, there would need to be penalties for turning it off, wouldn't want to run all the way to the boss and turn off the sync/cap.
More options for players the better. And I do think players would run it with the cap/sync set. When better gear, or HQ gear is offered up, acts as a good reward.
Adding a title/achievement, and even some special gear would be a good incentive for those interested to run the dungeon capped.

Well I am happy to see some people having similar opinions and I hope we can get a dev's answer on this issue.
@Weeble, yes I too would rather see capped events rewarded with HQ3 version of gears, but what I listed is just suggestions and I know people get hurt when I mention greater rewards for greater challenges, they think everyone should be handed stuff freely regardless of the challenge. And I mean challenge as in difficulty, not time put in.

Also, better rewards for a capped run is a great idea. And once the achievement system is implemented, have 2 separate achievements for the dungeons, like if you run it uncapped say "Achievement for [dungeon]" and if you run it capped have "Achievement for [capped level] [dungeon]." And if you run the dungeon with a cap and haven't done it before, you get both achievements at the same time.

Some might argue and whine that those achievements are like WoW, but still I think they should do that. Achievements existed before WoW and they can present it in a more FF way if that is possible lol
Honestly the best part of WoW was the achievements. It was fun jumping off a waterfall, hitting the ground and surviving just to get the achievement for surviving a long fall. They also give you something to work toward after completing all of the game content. Like on the PS3, after I beat FFXIII I continued to play it just to get all of the trophies to show off online. By the way, FF games are not the only games I play, but they are my favorites. I have all from 7-14, except for XII and X-2 ... didn't care much for them :/
