Why we play a MMORPG ?
To play with other people in a RPG.
What is a RPG ? ( simple vision)
A game with a deep story, a world which makes you dream, a choice of gear (itemization) that makes you feel unique, and taking avantage of the stat system et skill system makes u feel really powerfull.
This feel of beeing a hero in a magical world is what makes a real RPG
What do we have now ?
a story that was pretty good but really short and we forget it after 2 weeks into the game
A gorgeous World, that is underexploited, with all those teleport/Duty Finder, no open world content, no feel of danger in that world
the itemization is bland, u just looking at one stat "iLV", yes sub stat can be exploited but lets be honest, its really oversimplified and almost no freedom. And everyone is a clone
the combat system is : u have your optimal rotation, and try to apply it in the environnement where you are fighting, which makes the way you re playing really repetitive
What kind of content they re adding ? Furniture, Minion
All those ressources spent to something useless for the immersion of the game
Why not spend those ressources on charismatic NPC with deep story, more monsters
Why having implemented Crafting/Gathering when the game direction is clearly not about using those item crafted
Why removing materia system of 1.23 which gave great freedom of customization
I dont feel this game is an RPG, its a petshop game ? an FPS Lobby RPG ?
the version 1.0 > 1.23 was an amazing transformation
currently 2.0 > 2.2 is nothing amazing, generic character, generic fights, generic patches, generic game
Im waiting SE starts to really work on the RPG core, and not waste ressources on fan service, service that makes people just nostalgic about previous wonderful games
