    item level 115 gear

Assuming best case, back when the game came out in August, when the original people were attempting coil, they were at best in full darklight gear (i70), and most likely a mix of lvl 55-60 dungeon greens, and darklight (lets say 65 average).

These people, attempting coil 1-4, were 28% short of ilvl (meaning, coil has 90 gear) 90/70 = 128%. So the difference for them entering T1 coil (70), and the max was that. Now, with the new coil, in order for it to have 'equal' progression difficulty, it will need to have lvl 115 gear drop (assuming the 28% jump from 90->115).

Nothing to discuss, because the boss drop doesn't determine how difficult it feels. It's what you wear into the fight that determines it.

The way it's tuned isn't linked to the item level dropped in the instance. At all.

Yes your right about the part where coil gets 28% ilevels easier because of gear upgrades are you go along, but that doesn't change how difficult it can be when you first step into it.

They could make 6-9 in full 90 gear exactly the same diffiuclty as 1-5 in full 70 gear. But that doesn't mean it "It will have to have level 115 gear drop". it could drop level 95 gear or even NO GEAR AT ALL and still be equally difficult in 90 gear.

Encounters are balanced with a certain ilevel in mind. They go well a player will have x amount of health and we want to hit for %age so much so it'll hit you for y amount. The difficulty of Coil 'part two' will probably not be tuned for less than ilevel 90 since they might think, or know from server data, that most wont be full 90 (yet) so when people enter in 90 they might find it much easier. SE should be careful with how high they make ilevels because when gear scales so high getting one price will at some point in time nerf it considerably.

I think you guys are focusing too much on the "difficulty" part of what they're saying.

I think that's a neat way though of determining what the 2.2 bump in iLVL is going to be. And that makes sense really.

    Coil/Myth i90 > t5 weapon i95 > Amdapor Township i100 (new tomestone) > Coil 6-8 i110 > t9/LeviathanEX i115

Admittedly, I was made a little curious by the point of the new tomestone being introduced that will drop from what is being billed as a "hard" dungeon right from the get-go. Will the drops be the same level as the tomestone? Will we need the tomestones for something acquired through a new questline that gives a cap-level item (like relic+)?

Definitely looking forward to hearing more info.

I was focusing on the " it will need to have lvl 115 gear drop" oversight that he made.

Your line of logic for coming to 110/115 makes a bit more sense, but having amdapod township be i100 would be a horrible mistake. That would put it above crystal tower in terms of gear, when it should be equal or below, so 70-80.

If Amdapor is dropping a new kind of tome, I don't think it should be anything less than the tome it's replacing. Based on my understanding of what Yoshi-P said, it's going to be after mythology so it should at least be i90.

Nothing to discuss. You were originally intended to be attempting this dungeon with some i80 pieces as well. Time and money constraints changed that.
    But i115 wouldn't be awful, it'd leave a middle ground for CT2.
