The only time an achievement reward is suitable, is when you cleared a duty finder pick up group with zero people from your FC or friendlist. Anything else is easy mode and you should get an insult at best. All I want is an achievement for defeating the game's challenges under their original conditions and then I'm happy. For turns 1 through 5 that would be defeating all turns without the use of echo and at item level 91 (easy to setup with party finder). Once all of the coils are released, there could be a unique mount or something for earning such achievement for each coil.
Honestly - was your response even necessary? Even in the slightest? An achievement doesn't necessarily need to be difficult; it can also relate to time invested. If you want to call Twintania easy, then so be it. I'd honestly be floored if even close to 10% of the game's subscribers have cleared it.
....They're not focusing on casual gamer with this...They're making it so future new players can catch up and be in the most current up to date content.Just change the color of the "easy mode" Coil. Don't understand why SE always wants to focus on the casual gamer. A color change is the least they could do instead of only double-nerfing Coil (assistance + everyone doing it in i85+ gear).
We need a horizontal game, not the boring "waiting for next patch" vertical game.
Uhh they have said that we should see an expansion within a year of 2.0 release. And that would be patch 3.0 so your quite a bit off on this one. Also they will likely move past coil/CT with the expansion.
Thats what level caps are for. New players will be able to hit lvl 55/60/65/whatever THEN do coil. And if higher lvl isn't enough for them to beat it I dunno what to say it's already puggable content minus Twin.
Turn 1-5 is a good learning curve to the game. Making it easier takes away the challenge. I still enjoy completing turn 1-5 every week! I would hate to see people not experience the same challenge we did when I started. With CT and myth gear, it shouldn't take people long to be at least turn 1-4 ready. Turn 5 takes practice and dedication. It should remain that way even with turn 6-9 released. I remember looking back at FFXI days airship fight. All i wanted to do was sea with my friends which drove me to completing COP and it was the most fun I had in game. People will just expect content to become easier and the people who earned it will never be recognized for their achievement. My point is take away the challenge and the game becomes very boring!
I don't see why having gear with a variety of effects is the result of a badly balanced game.
It doesn't have to be +healing... but could be + mp regen.. or + spell speed... or effects such as adding a hot or shield, or even proccing some other effect.
Why would that gear only exist in a badly balanced game? There has been gear like that in all kinds of games....

Agreed. Weapons with a variety of procs were always fun to acquire in EQ. Anyone who plays or once played EQ likely remembers personally carrying around (or other classes who did) different weapons for a variety of effects. No shaman? Bust out the slow proc weapons! Undead? Bust out your undead nuke proc weapons. Etc etc.
Gives people things to chase after. Misc little items that don't make or break the game but when you do have them you think "this item is amazing!". Think of having a random piece of gear that made you immune to the debuff you get in titan HM from the jails. Do you need it? Nope a healer can just esuna/leech you but would it be a interesting little toy to have available? Sure why not plenty of people would run out and camp it.
Hell in FF's own games its a HUGE deal. Shields with different elemental resistances for different fights. Accessories to make you immune to certain effects (death, stone, poison, etc)

Donal's BP of Mourning, 30 sec CH clicky!! Woowoo!Agreed. Weapons with a variety of procs were always fun to acquire in EQ. Also it provides lasting value in the items if they are unique/creative enough. Half the classes STILL want their epics (1.0 and/or 2.0) because these items were so well designed they kept their value despite being replaced as an equippable item.
1.0s were released in 2000 (14 years and 19 expansions ago)
2.0s were released in 2004 (10 years and 12 expansions ago)
Beastlord 2.0 - still a valuable burn clicky for pet (1.0 phased out soon as better weapons were avail likely due to class's late release)
Bard 2.0 - still valuable burn clicky for whole group (1.0 clicky wasn't replaced for many years)
Berserker 2.0 - still valuable burn clicky (same as bst 1.0)
Cleric 1.0 & 2.0 - valuable until they added the AA (which wasn't until like 10 years later). 2.0 still valuable as a emergency group heal.
Druid - both epics phased out sadly
Enchanter - both phased out 1.0 was extremely valuable for many years and 2.0 I think is still used but just not that fantastic.
Mage - 2.0 still used
Monk - 2.0 still valuable burn clicky
Necro - 2.0 still EQUIPPED
Pally - 2.0 still quite useful tanking CD
Ranger - 1.0 still a useful slow procing weapon and 2.0 still used as a dps CD
Rogue - 2.0 still used in burns
Shadow knight - 2.0 still a VERY useful group buff
Shaman - 2.0 still VERY important for group dps burns
Wizard - epic phased out
Warrior - 2.0 still used I believe but its pretty meh at this point
