Please DO NOT divide servers by language. It keeps the world alive during all hours of the day. And the interaction with JP/EU players was awesome in FFXI and is one of the main reasons I play FFXIV.

yeah this is one great aspect of the international servers!

They could boost the cross-cultural interaction if they made open-world partying and grinding fun and rewarding again like back in the beginning. So many pick up parties would form back in the day.

The leve system is horrible at fostering international community play since there are so many obstacles in the way of just going out and killing stuff as a group.

This would be a major downfall in my opinion. This is one of the reasons I play FF, and I was in an LS in FFXI where we had JP members. I like that aspect the most, we had JP runs and we had NA runs for different events, thus an event going on at everytime during the day. Also it's sweet to talk with people from all over and I'm not just saying JP, some French, German, and other countries too.

It seems to me there is a JP following though that only enjoys playing with JP...because there is this notion with NA players that we're ignorant. Which I can say was sometimes the case in FFXI, one bad apple etc... If this happens it will definately be deflating to most players on both sides.

That being said communication is key, and there is a definite need for more auto-translate which at times can be hilarious to use but works.

Also in XI the JP were very elitist and rude a lot of the time, atleast to me. I dont know how many times they would rather sit and wait then take an NA tank. and this was just for grinding partys that could be communicated just fine through auto translate. I'm not surprised at all they would want segregated servers.

Maybe. However, the translator made it hard to be overtly mean or nasty though, which is a nice change of pace.

I like playing with people from other countries and I enjoy playing with the japanese. I like how one server has people from all ends of the world, it would be boring if its all NA or english speaking imo.
