Are PS3 users ever going to be able to use the keyboard and mouse like a PC user can? Id like to be able to press a key on my keyboard to do a move rather than click on it or use my controller.

Played the PS4 Beta with mouse keyboard no problems. Bought the game for PS3 because I was hooked and wanted more, but the option where you switch between controller or mouse/keyboard seems to be missing.
I know about disabling directchat and binding keys to corresponding DS3 face buttons, but come on! How difficult is it to give PS3 players that option?
Nope. And you won't. PS3 will not get the KB/M UI. Memory limitations prevent it.
PS3 doesn't get the PC style hotbars, but you can assign actions to keyboard keys. There's an option for it (or actually for its opposite) in Character Settings. I think it's called something like Direct Chat. That option is set by default and it means that whenever you start typing it will move focus to the chat window and interpret your keystrokes as chat text. But you can turn that option off and be able to use your keyboard for action keybinds just like PC players can.
(At least that's my understanding of how it works from what I've heard from others. For myself, I prefer using the controller for everything but chat, so I still have that Direct Chat setting at its default.)
how would hardware limitation possibly prevent allowing us to pick the PC version of the hotbar? its literally the same thing im doing now except i could bind the slots on the crossbar to my keyboard instead of binding the controller inputs to my keyboard. if anything it should take LESS hardware power to actively use the normal hotbar and more for the crossbar. though that would only apply if you had to pick one or the other at a given time.
the XHB only displays one set at a time. the PC setup can display multiple hotbar sets at any one given time. thus requiring more RAM. the PS3's client is already using as much RAM as possible. which is why a couple UI elements are removed for when you want to set a Focus Target. there is not enough RAM to keep that many elements rendered into display.how would hardware limitation possibly prevent allowing us to pick the PC version of the hotbar? its literally the same thing im doing now except i could bind the slots on the crossbar to my keyboard instead of binding the controller inputs to my keyboard. if anything it should take LESS hardware power to actively use the normal hotbar and more for the crossbar. though that would only apply if you had to pick one or the other at a given time.
