Why do people care? I play it cause I enjoy it. I don't care who else is playing, and definately don't give a flying frog about how many people are not interacting with me directly.

Couldn't care less if me and my Linkshell were the only ones left on the servers. Really don't care.

Also "It is now time"? Why is it now time? Was this descreed in unholy writings?

So apparently people do care, and whether or not you care is essentially irrelevant. And its a good time now because if they show the patch had got a lot of people returning to the game then 100s of trolls on these forums can't spam negative comments about how the game is dead or how no one likes the patch.

I mean I get that SE makes it look like the end of the world is coming in Eorzea but I'm pretty sure they don't mean it literally! And a lot of people on these forums seem to think they do!

It just amuses me that you say "IT IS NOW TIME". No it isn't, and honestly, what difference does it make? Outside of my social circle in game, I couldn't give a bee's bum about anything.

I don't know why I need to see figures to back up the fact that I like or dislike a game. It's personal choice if you play it or not, why is it important to know others are playing it too, on servers you have nothing to do with? If you want to know the active population of your own server, just login and visit the commonly busy areas.

Nah, not gonna tell ya.

Anyway, having an exact statistic about how many players play in each servers, how many accounts haven't being used for at least 1 month,...
All bullsh*t! I just wanna play the game, learn its story and have fun. I need no statistics!

Short sighted. Once player numbers drop below a certain line, the addition of new content and improvements to the existing one will simply be no more "worth it". So I understand why some people want to know the numbers - nobody wants to be the last rat on a sinking ship.

That said, the current time is definitely not the best to release player numbers, because some of those who are on the fences now but do not log in would not be covered.

Uhm do you think the game will stay on just for you and the people you care about in the game? If the game doesnt have a certain population sometime soon it will be shut down. If it is losing subs as F2P what do you think will happen when they try to charge for it? so in turn i must ask, How does your enjoyment of the game effect its Life? No one is going to care you and your LS enjoy it when they go to pull the plug, if that happens which hopefully it doesnt. But hell these numbers could help us jump off the ship sooner so we dont waste our time.

And no one is asking for it to be popular, hell 11 was niche as they come. We would just like the populations to be healthy so we can actually have a game to log on to. Has nothing to do with popularity. You need to sit down and remember this isnt a game made to be F2P and they are bleeding money right now to keep this game afloat. It it fails any more it will be deemed not worth it to continue developement and SE will just plug pull and head to the next endeavor, still raking in money from an mmo they made a decade ago almost.
