    because instance equates to difficulty, sure.

    also, not everyone is capable of content before it's nerfed.

    casuals get to be happy because they can actually clear it. non causal but non hardcores get to finally move on, and the top 5% get to feel smugly superior because they got there first.

    Only way to keep gear around for long term would be to bring materia/gear break system again or bring out gear swaps during battle and modifire stats for actions and abilities.

    Even though I'm not being overly negative about 2.2, I did say something similar to OP in another thread. Just because WoW was successful, doesn't mean it did everything right...its 10 years old, we can do better.

    Too many self entitled opinions. A lot, if not all, MMOs start off like this. WoW started off with barely anything and released content periodically to keep the players entertained. Its a life long feature for all MMOs. They aren't going to be perfect right off the design board. Not all of the end game as we know it know will be end game when we are playing 2 years from now. We're going to get better armor. 3 month separation isn't that short of a span unless you're a casual player.

    As for releasing new content and downgrading the old content, that's a real life situation. How long does it take for a brand new piece of software to pop out? Usually one or two years after its predecessor. Making the older model obsolete and not worth getting/using. Content needs to be updated, the main sacrifice progression always brings is with old content. You expect current AF2 gear to last forever? I don't. Still working on my Darklight gear now and soon after my AF2. By the time I get AF2, this new content will be out and maybe 2.3 will be on its way or released adding even more high gear content.

    I don't actively play wow cause I found it boring. MMO wise I did play RO who had the same issue and complaints. New high end dungeons and gear rolling out of the wood works months after the last one was released. It happened so fast, a lot of private servers and those hosting didn't both keeping up and decided to just lump them together at random points. Most still refuse to use the third tier classes because of how overpowered they are and the content that they need to be used correctly nerfs the entire game.

    New always replaces old. If you don't want that then why would you want any progress with the game?

    I personally would like to see a different set of changes happen with armor, like upgradeable armor, armor set bonuses(similar to the GC bonuses and Class specific bonuses like Diablo2 and Diablo3 on Class specific gear) so even those with lower iLvls could have stats that changes the way you can play, and more options for Materia, which is a good system, just handled poorly.

    I'm happy with the Vanity system needing Crafters as there is a point to craft now, and crafters can make some money on the side by selling the vanity gear, though I wish they'd get over their RMT fear and allow more with the Crafters cause they cannot stop RMT by shorting crafters. Only way to deal with RMT is to ban it as you find it. No matter what you add RMT will exist, people will find away to make money off your creation, just deal with it as you should be, with the banning of bots and all those caught RMTing. And no I'm not a crafter. highest level crafting class I have is like level 9 or 12. I think I just got to 12. I don't remember.
