Why we play a MMORPG ?All those ressources spent to something useless for the immersion of the game

Some would argue that improving immersion and developing a lore beyond "There are bad guys, you are the good guy that beats them up" is a waste of resources that would be better spent on phat loot to do BIG NUMBERS on Ultra Mega Extreeeeeme [insert guitar riff and explosions] mode.

There will never be a middle ground where everyone is satisfied.
