NO.
I was expecting nothing from this game. All I knew was that 1.0 was widely considered a disaster, including by the producers themselves.
I am not feeling betrayed, I am feeling surprised and delighted.
They delivered on NO HYPE. Compare with the Guild Wars 2 mega-hype... and the result. :P
Even XI doesn't want to be XI anymore.
Oh, that's why with release of Abyssea and cap incraise sub numbers have been falling drastically. Right.Even XI doesn't want to be XI anymore.
you felt betrayed...by a video game company
the only gif i can find to properly describe my feelings on that is this one...
lol you must be one of those dudes who cried and screamed betrayal on the mass effect 3 ending.

I don't feel betrayed yoshi stated that progression and everything else was going to copy wow, he stated that years ago.
The buff you get for dying seems to be one of the worst decisions I've ever heard of in mmo history though.
I know it was in the story but it had minimal impact it was more for speeding up lvling which was fine
no, actually i'm quite happy...
they have told us they will try to bring a lot of content every 3 month, they are doing it!
they have told us that the game will be more accessible, it's the case!
they had promise the housing the 2.1, we did get it!
they had promise the vanity system for the 2.2, we have it!
until now, they have never betray them promise to us...
I don't know why people thought Square would ever try to create a successor to Final Fantasy XI without shutting down Final Fantasy XI.
It would be incredibly financially stupid for Square to make FFXIV more like FFXI. Their two products would start competing with each other! Currently, they are two very, very different games and as such are not fighting each other for customers.
