New ideas for those of you who have capped your tomes, looted, and bored.

So, maybe you've gotten to the point where you've done all the content, you have nothing else to earn due to the cap...What do you do? Perhaps you log off until Monday and cap again....or maybe you find something creative and new to try.

Thanks to preformed parties not being bound by the 2/2/4 class makeup you can find new ways to make your own challenges. One night I participated in a fight with 6 WAR 1 SCH and 1 MNK. This was really a lot of fun. We downed titan 3 times in 30 minutes.

Tonight (if you are in Lamia look out for shouts at the toll) I will be running Hydra. 8 Tanks, no healers. This will utilize tank damage mitigation cooldowns, self heals, and possible tank swapping to get a win. Just something fun to try.

What are some interesting and challenging ideas some of you might have that would be worth trying?

I am glad that you are finding new and creative ways to challenge yourself.

I have to say that I have never really been a fan of trying to find ways to make entertainment I pay for more interesting... especially by making things unnecessarily hard (for things such as achievements).

Maybe I am lazy, but I expect entertainment to be entertaining... not something that takes work to make entertaining. That is not a criticism of you at all. It's more the sentiment that if your players are having to do this kind of thing, it means they are bored or your game is not entertaining enough on its own, imo.

I've been contemplating with the idea of letting my sub run out to be completely honest. There are a lot of ripples in this games core that I don't agree with, and have no indication of being changed anytime soon. I know that i'm in the minority, so as a business move catering to me might not be the best idea. However I am also a paying customer, and I think it's time I speak with my wallet like I did at 1.0 launch. I'm just past the point of dissatisfaction with content in this game, especially in regards to the Main Scenario. This is not the Final Fantasy I wanted, and I truly do consider it one in name only. Opinions, they are tough to swallow.

well...if anyone is curious, we just tried the hydra fight.

I overlooked the fact that we need a tank that needs hydra in order to open it...fortunately we found one. We had 3 PLD and 5 WAR out of what we could gather up. Various gear levels. We managed to get Hydra to 15 percent HP using teams. started first with 2 teams of 4, then with 4 teams of 2. I think with a little ironing out of the strategy its totally possible to kill hydra with 8 tanks. If anybody else tries this and gets it to work, i'd love to hear what you did. We were so close.

it might be something i try again. who knows. i was mostly curious about whether or not it could be done but i'd love to actually be able to finish it. If you ever want to give it a try you'll see me at the toll mostly. or just ask anyone in <<MIGHT>>. we have enough tanks it shouldn't be hard to put together.

well for a while my fc just ran as groups leveling different classes and getting relic's for each. now they are just signing out after monday until the following monday.

i've not been playing as much lately, myself, but i have been crafting and gathering while doing the treasure maps and beastmen quests. that's good for an hour or so a day
