Yes you have a point. However, doesn't i80 + gear make the turns a lot easier? This will be kind of a joke to do Coil 1-5 in let's say i85 gear then automatically be ready (gear wise) for turn 6. I don't see the point in making the turns easier when they become easier because of Labyrinths' gear and people being like full myth nowadays.

It's just that there is no reward in doing 'hard' content since with a patch, the people who are a bit behind will get a huge boost thus being at the same content you worked really hard for to do right away.

It's not a matter of gear it's a matter of skill. I know players in full i90 who are godawful at their job and players i75+ who play WAY better then those i90s. Yes having better gear raises the bar on what you can do, but even T4 can be a royal pain if people don't know what to do for each phase transition

I will never understand people who value their progression in such a negative manner. It's not about what you can do but about what other people can't do. It's silly to be mad about something like this, especially when anyone who knows anything about MMOs would have seen it coming.

It's a question why SE chooses to ease content so early when it could still add to the game. Anyone who knows anything about an MMO knows there will always be a difference. If you you "can't do" certain content, you should try and find out how to do it. Find some friends, join an FC <---- those are MMO skills too: they are called social skills.

When I checked your character, there are no signs of you doing Coil, hence your comment. My point was: are the nerfs necessary when Coil is being nerfed already due to people being close to full i90 gear (myth gear). It could still be impossible because MMO's have lots of people who can't communicate or aren't the perseverance type, so I do understand SE's point of view <---. I'm all for the two modes: normal and hard or w/e it has to be called.

You're joking, right? There is absolutely nothing positive about that post at all. It's bitter, negative, and completely delivered through clenched teeth.

Well I did start this game 3 months after you Game Winner, so yeah I only did Turn 1 and Turn 2 last night after finding a guild I meshed with. I have no idea why you'd try to progression shame someone you have a 3 month lead on but whatever.

Look I don't agree completely with the nerf, but I disagree with people who are mad about the nerf because they feel their work is being invalidated. If the only thing that gives raiding value to you is doing something other people can't do and getting trinkets, then yeah you're probably doing it for the wrong reasons. Splitting it into two modes is just pointless, they did that in World of Warcraft and it has all the same negative impacts of nerfing content, you've got less people who need to go through guilds to raid.

There definitely is a negative impact to nerfing content and not leaving a tiered system in place, but everyone knew this was coming. To see all this screaming about how 'my shinies lost their luster' is just disheartening. I'm willing to wait until we see the nerf, for all we know it could be a very small nerf since the content doesn't seem wildly overtuned or anything like that. Maybe the soft nerf of ilvl 100 gear would have been enough on it's own maybe it wouldn't, but I'm sure not going to scream bloody murder over a nerf that not only was obvious but is basically the industry standard.

No, I'm not. You just jumped straight to negative conclusions when the term "handicapped" was mentioned. Now please stop QQing without justifiable foundation.

It seems to me that to continuing to be top notch, players will have to keep working and win the new hard content (and grind it) before anybody else.
The ones who were one of the first to beat Coil, one of the first to have Allagan gear, etc. will not remain top players if they don't advance. It seems like they want to be forever the best players because in one moment of time they were, and also all have to know it because of their gear.

If you beat Coil you have a great sense of fulfilment, but to show off you need to grind Coil and finally obtain the gear (which is not the same thing.) Not that I think it's not good or normal, it's the way this games work. We all want the best gear, we all want to beat the difficult fights and obtain the drops. Everything is a step, you get better gear, win more difficult dungeons, earn better gear and cicle repeats.
