    I personally do not think melding is the way to go with this. Given how easy melding is and how accessible it is, it doesn't feel like something that deserves rewards - we have tips for that.

    Rather, I'd like to see a Request Craft interface, similar to Request Meld, where you can submit your materials, see the progress/quality bars, and watch as the crafter makes your items. I think that by watching the craft and HQ progress, the requester will feel it was a job worth commending for, and by virtue of having more "work" involved, the crafter will also feel deserving of a commendation.

    I would say make a request synth instead of using the request meld, add a check box for a commendation

    That's basically what I said. Although instead of a checkbox, I think the current system of commending is fine (where it pops up and asks if you want to commend). That way, you decide whether to commend or not at the end of the synthesis and not the beginning, since I don't think you'd want to commend someone who fails your craft or NQs it (unless you explicitly state you're ok with NQ).
