Save the Game Thread

The game's in no imminent danger, but I can see a lot of vets getting sick of it down the road (myself included). They're doing a very good job of catering to the new MMO crowd (WoW/GW2) and not giving a damn about the concerns of JRPG/MMO vets who stuck it out with XI and others. I for one, really don't care for where the game's headed and I'm thinking of just leting my sub run out and then see what happens when the expansion comes around.

But I just can't get behind a game with long-term interest that effectively renders all the content of the previous patch moot. It's been over 3 years since XIV first launched and I've had my fill of disappointment. I'm happy for the folks who enjoy this sort of model, and more power to you - I just wish YP would take us XI vets concerns more seriously. I like XIV overall, I want to keep playing, but if they're just going to keep making more battles with ridiculous 1-hit kill gimmicks you have to dodge (as opposed to playing your job to its fullest in XI) and rendering older content obsolete & continuing to set future content up so it's better to focus on gearing a single class (in a game where a central feature is that you can play everything on 1 character) then no, I'm done.
