    Roaming NM's

I just recently started killing the big NM's like the goblin, dodore, Uraeus, great buffalo, Mosshorn. I understand that when they limited the party size to 8, that the "nerf"ed the strenght of these NM's. (For example the goblin used to have more adds back when party sizes were 15.

Well it's pretty common knowledge that some of these NM's can be solo'd or duo'd with emulate. The NM "nerf" wasn't really necessary.

I propose that when these NM's pop, make the NM level and/or condition vary. It seems like with dungeons coming out SE is trying to give content to both small and large groups as well as low and high ranking players.

For example for the Goblin, give him a chance of popping with only the 4 adds, or give him a chance of popping with 8. So basically make it so there are 2 version of each NM, a strong NM, or a weaker one. Perhaps the drops like Uraeus skin can be NQ for the light version, or HQ for the stronger version.

11 had some NM's like King Behemoth and Fafnir/Nidhog that had stronger versions of itself so why not do the same in this game?

I think some variation would be nice. Even if there wasn't necessarily an "HNM" version of it, like if the number of adds was random, but it didn't affect the drop rate or the items attained, the variation would at least be one of those small things (That together with a bunch of other small things) that adds to the world.

They definitely need to develop content for different skill levels. The current NM implementations are just plain bad.

If all content is easy, no one will have a real goal to work towards ("status" becomes irrelevant, content is easily spent, etc.). If all content is hard, then you are designing for a small nitch and will hamper the financial success of the game.

exactly, hardcore ftw, we need really hard content to have a long term goal and keep content interesting for everyone

Status is more like a goal to be achieved... if you overcome challenges, some people will in turn allow you a certain "status" in their mind (or respect)

Elitism on the other hand is when someone has their head shoved a particular distance up their own ass. They assert that they have "status", whether they do or they don't

If a person can do this, they have earned by respect.

    Fixed.

    FYI:

    elitism:
    1. The advocacy or existence of an elite as a dominating element in a system or society.
    2. The attitude or behavior of a person or group who regard themselves as belonging to an elite.

    elite:
    1. A group of people considered to be the best in a particular society or category, esp. because of their power, talent, or wealth.
    2. A size of letter in typewriting, with 12 characters to the inch (about 4.7 to the centimeter)

Oh, and this one comes to mind when I see people use "elitist" as an insult:

    ressentiment:
    1. A psychological state arising from suppressed feelings of envy and hatred that cannot be acted upon.

If you're going to use a dictionary definition as an argument, at least try to do so in a way that doesn't completely prove my point.

    :P
