future final fantasy (FFMMO) online idea

I know this game just came out not too long go, but would there be any way for SE to make the next FF online game use the characters you played on 14? like these people that has WHM 50 then the new game comes and they can use the same character, wouldn't you like to see your current character show up in the next game? (similar to the FFXIII event) but permanent, I hope this game has the life span of 11 or longer, but what is you views on being able to transfer your 14 character to the next Final Fantasy MMO? and do you think it can be done?

If I remember right they transferred data from XI to xiv back when the original released in 2010 or 11 or w/e.

They didn't, they had the idea of the concept but abandoned it.

It's possible, however unlikely.

This will be the only FF game for the next few years at least. If not, on the off chance this one fails, I highly doubt we would ever see another FF online game.

I guess I should have worded it like this, like the way they did the 1.x players, the characters got to keep the lvl's I'm not sure if they kept their items/gear (not a 1.x player), I personally don't see why they can't do the same on the next FF MMO.

Well Arr is the reworked version of ff14, and you would lose people if screwed them over by deleting them. As for another game highly unlikely.

So what your saying is they transferred the characters from 1.x because arr was built off 14? so if they made a new FF game online you think we would have to start all over because its a new game?
I hope 14 has a long lifespan as long as FFXI if not longer. just thinking about the future.

FFXIV uses the same races and apperances as XI for the most part, so you could easily RP that you somehow got brought to XIV from XI. I can imagine something similar in a future, long ways away, online game.

1.0 and 2.0 are the same game. 2.0 is an expansion which heavily reworked the existing game. If a new title it released and you kept your levels and items....then why release it? That's more or less an expansion, not a new game.
