Remember when Square was banning youtube videos. EA and Microsoft on the other side.

Remember when, and even now it still can be a issues get some of squares games on popular youtube channels when. The big boys were paying players to show there videos lol. It one reason fan videos are so popular and sells games. Even if sometimes it critical on the game.

I generally find it best to be of the opposite opinion to EA. i don't even bother to form my own opinion about it these days, it saves time to just disagree outright.

The difference between companies like SE banning videos is that they provided free beta keys and access, and have a Non-disclosure agreement. hence you break the agreement and they ban your video they can also sue. It's a breach of contract. What EA and Microsoft are doing is borderline illegal, hence why they can have issues with the FCC. The case is that they pay people to review their games only in a good light.

It's like paying off food critics and hell even the health commission to say your restaurant is "good quality" when in reality it's the farthest thing from.

I don't want to sound condescending or judge you, but did you even watch the video you linked, and are aware of the issue at hand?

Well the net neutrality law went out window 3 weeks ago. Reason the FTC can not do nothing to them reason they started doing it now. Soon all are ISP we will be charging us more to play online games. , All they did is offer a NDA to stream the video there cuts, most the bigger channels ran it like they wanted to. Now all isp and game companies got complete control of the internet in usa. What it did show , was the power of advertisments that could have been free. And They were paying top streams a ton o money to do it there way.

    LOL!

Well, that's cause it's EA and it ruins everything it touches. Kinda like that curse that turned everything the king touched into gold? But instead of a king we have EA and instead of gold it's shit.

On topic, yeah it does help make people want to play it more, and rather more often than not they are good rep. The bad sides of the game are there and will always be, and the player will find them out too. Besides, videos are just a point of view of someone, an opinion. No reason to take 'em as sacred words! SE is just overly sensitive, kinda like a child. Sorry!

Hmmm, they were banning other videos just a month ago, so not relevant, sorry. (not to my point anyway)

Hmmm... the one that comes off the top of my head was that lala video, it was a lala running around with the sitting+emote glitch (his arms up in the air). It was hilarious. A lot of videos like this get banned for either showing a glitch or just giving the game "bad rep".

Some videos part of streams used to get banned (post-release) for having a different background music foreign to the game.

Just silly stuff like that, that SE forbids (using or altering the video footage in any way, i.e. adding music to it). That is why I said what I said.

On an end note, I totally agree with the non-disclosure agreement bans, while it's not always nice nor the best to do this (because let's be honest, they get shared regardless and it's pretty silly to forbid us having a peek at the game), they are in their full right to ban videos that break this said agreement.

Sadly it is an issue, but oh well, I haven't watched the video. These stuff happen though, Always have. I don't think people take video games as seriously as food though =P For diverse reasons!

    But :X

It would also depend on what's the review's weight. If it's not official then there wouldn't really be a party to buy technically, plus they could just be hiring someone to make good publicity for them, kinda like how you buy an ads producer and what not. Same point. The video makers dont stand for anyone (the free lancers), if they responded to a higher hierarchy and they were supposedly tasked with a fair and honest review and bla bla bla they were also responsible for it, then it would be another story.

Anyway, freedom of the iternet, too much drama! Good things abused and bad things gone unpunished too like bad pornography (the well, rather more than illegal and inmoral ones), illegal business (drugs, assassinations, scams, etc). There are a lot of shady stuff that happen on the internet that I think any sane people would agree with them being wrong, and we being better off without them, "healthier".
