I do what OP does, not to teach people a lesson(nobody will learn anything anyway, welcome to the internet), but to spice up the run.

So bored of runs where people just go through the motions, nobody says a word except for "hi" at the start and "thanks" at the end. It's a lame routine. Would rather mess around a bit and have some fun.

I think this type of behavior not only promotes a poor gaming environment for everyone but develops poor habits in yourself. All players in a group, regardless of role, need to communicate. No one should be playing the blame game or passive aggressively dealing with things they dislike by refusing to tank/heal/dps until things go your way. If someone in the group refuses to follow, then choose to follow them. Or speak up and discuss the problems you're seeing/experiencing. If things go to hell and the party wipes, talk to your group and identify areas of weakness in yourself and encourage them to do the same thing. By acknowledging your own failings rather than singling others out, you not only strengthen the group dynamic but you'll also improve as a player because you're actively looking for ways to change and get better.

Take a situation where the LNC is Level-Synced and the tank is under-geared at the minimal level requirement of the Duty. The tank was taking a lot of damage and the LNC was being a jerk for stealing aggro and taking more packs than the tanks could handle.

We asked him to stop, since the tank was trying his best and was still struggling. He refused, saying he had to finish the dungeon faster. The tank, being new, also didn't knew the dungeon layout. He took a wrong turn and aggroed an optional pack. Meanwhile, the LNC backed up to the main road and came back with a new pack. I was already fully occupied keeping the tank alive and was pissed at the DPS, so I let him die.

After the fight I was a jerk and said that I couldn't "heal dumbness". The dungeon was almost finish, but he decided to follow us and AFK, not helping in any way during fights. After to packs, we kicked him then went on the final two fights of the dungeon with a new more friendly DPS.

I think your response was fine.

If the dd isn't gonna do his job for you why should you do yours for him? When you stopped healing him he asked for heals, your response "if you attack marked target" was justified, do his job you'll do yours.

Just because a DD's job isn't as fatal if he doesn't do it right as if a tank or healer don't do it right does not mean you should encourage him to continue to do it wrong. His job is to attack the marked target, sure he can place DoT's on the surrounding mobs but if he's not primarily focused on the mark he is not doing his job right.

I have to completely disagree with your assesment. The person who was out of line was the lancer. The tank was marking and was asked to follow targets. The lancer was the one with the bad habits and the passive aggressive method of dealing with the situation. The lancer was the one that did not discuss why he was off target. He was the one that was outside the norm. If he had a reason for attacking other targets he should have spoken up. If the tank was choosing the wrong orders then say that. But by being silent and doing his own thing, he was the one that was causing the problems. As both a tank and a healer I am more than happy to let people like him tank the mobs they pull. That is what they are after so that is what I give them.

Nothing wrong at all with this. Let him get higher level and endgame. He'll die a lot faster. :P

DPS has to learn that they just can't faceroll in whatever they do.

If you have a problem member, communicate with them. Communicate with the entire group as to how this member is a problem. If you can't talk the problem out, ask them to leave the group. If they refuse, or if they completely ignore you, ask the rest of the group to do something about it.

Communicate with your fellow players. Too much of this community just wander through the game seemingly on auto-pilot barely paying any attention to each other at all. This is a game that requires teamwork, and you can't be a team if you don't communicate, so communicate

Personally, I continue healing the wayward DPS'r, but tell them the tank/party attacking the marked mob chosen by the tank are my first priority and... If they continue to go off on their own, I will only heal them if 1.) the main party is completely taking care of, and 2.) I have the time and mp to do so.

So far, I have never had a DPS that hasn't returned to the group to continue.
