    PVP Thoughts

Hey there, I have been trying to get into PVP and would like to share my thoughts and experience, not to gripe or whine but to see if any responses can give me direction on how to improve or how to counter.

    1) 4-Man fully geared lv 50 premade queuing 30's and 40's. Sufficed to say they win 100% of the time. What are your thoughts on this? Even with scaling and fewer skills fully geared lv 50's syncing down make people like me actually in that bracket not wanna queue. I made my own party and went on TS, but we were simply outgeared. Whatever system syncs them down doesn't really affect their stats and dmg/healing. They are a wrecking ball.

    2) Catch the Pigeon -- aka healer. How do you deal when a healer bolts? I sprint after them (+invigorate) and pray to get a stun or something off to slow them down -- but if invigorate is not ready then the healer sprints away without losing anything other than LoS with his team mates and heals full. When a healer bolts I have tried quickly turning to another dps in the hopes of burning them before the healer comes back -- but heals are STRONG (in my bracket) and the healer can usually just do 1 cast on himself, then one on my new target, and even when at 50% health they are back on full.

    a) I would suggest a small debuff "exhausted" or something, that if sprint is up they receive some sort of penalty -- or have sprint on a long CD so they use it as a LAST RESORT not every time it is off CD.

    3) Sleep -- this lasts for far too long. I use HQ sleep resist food since I have all 50 crafts, but it has no real impact. I have the CC break skill, but then I just get slept again -- systematically alongside my team. Maybe in 50's the materia will help, but it doesn't help in my 40's bracket.

I would simply suggest more impact of food pre 50 as materia isn't a viable option.

Do I just wait the sleep(s) out?

Full Geared Lvl 50 are no stronger than Lvl 40 Twinks. If you're a melee you have Weapon throw which is really great since update. Yeap 40s bracket heals are superbly strong but the down side is they don't have instant heals % heals in 50s. Pressure is what you need to kill the healer. For sleep I agree it is hard to counter BLM + WHM as it all depends on your team's healer to LoS every heals. You always purify first sleep. Do not purify if, you haven't use any CDs or anyone in your team is not in danger nor is anyone on the other team at critical HP.

People need to stop regurgitating the same misleading line about 50's having no advantage in 30's and 40's games. The gear advantage is irrelevant. What matters is that they have all their PvP abilities even when synced down.

I recently started leveling SCH and I played a bunch of games as soon as I hit 30. Since I'm rank 25 I have enough abilities to ensure nothing will ever kill me aside from a coordinated 4 man with equal ranks. I've solo queued around 75 games at 30 and I haven't even come close to dying once against non-premades. My rank 20ish IRL friend is leveling a BRD at the same time and when queueing together we can easily pull a 100% win rate, and we have for around 50 games.

Pshhh, no advantage. Yea OK. I see tons of people joining their first ever game and they have to deal with my 150s CD Purify, 20 sec Equanimity, 50% Divine Breath, Attunement, and Aura Blast. TOTALLY FAIR! I just hit 40 and tried a bunch in the new bracket. It's exactly the same story.

BTW I know the exact team you're talking about, from Adamantoise right?

    Balmung.

Also I didn't know to wait and not use purify, I tend to just knee-jerk use it otherwise I am probably going to be doing nothing for 24 or so seconds. I did get weapon throw and it is great -- massive CD though and will take a while to make it feasable. I do like the passive ability it grants that the devs didn't mention which is "makes the targetted person WTF and panic"

If you have a good healer you shouldn't have to waste Purify on Sleep. Just say in party chat "slept" and they should break you out quickly. It depends on the situation but in general it's best saved for a long Sleep that won't be broken, when you're fully dotted up and have healing debuffs on, or when you get CC'd as you're chasing someone near death.
