What are "rules" of MMOs that you have discovered?

    New rules of MMOs:
1)Anyone who enjoys doing content in a game is a "no-lifer"
2)The real fun in a MMO is gained from picking up gear easily and then showing it off to people to make them in awe of you.
3)Trash mobs? "Ain't nobody got time for dat!" We want to go find a boss alone in a room and kill him in one attempt and grab the loot that comes out of the pinata.
4)Practice? Videos? Strategy? Just find someone else who cares about that stuff and make them join your party! Tell them you care about that stuff and that you farm this mob successfully all the time! I'm just here for the lewt! (Maybe I will let them roll if it drops, but...NAAAA MINE!)
5)Come to the forums if you can't get something on your first go and say it's too hard. This usually results in it being nerfed!

What rules of MMO's have you discovered on your journey?

If you haven't cleared something within 12 hours of it being released, you are a scrubby noob and need to L2P. Thats been the biggest lesson so far.

Likewise, easier content (Haukke Manor) can't be cleared unless you have your relic weapon, full AF+1, etc. Also exploiting a dungeon to skip everything is ok, and new players shouldn't dare watch the climax to the main story line because I NEED MAH PHILOS.

These rules are, sadly, pretty accurate. It's all about me, now, fast, easy.

On another note, if they made everything boss fights only and they dropped
10 pieces of loot per kill, no lockouts, and gil was infinite... someone, somewhere
    would still complain about something.

And thus life continues in the world of MMOs. Lol.

    1) When someone queues into extreme content and say they are new, you are required to give explain to them the entire fight or else you're the bad guy.

1.) Or you could just drop group which is more often the case.

Even though your playing an online game made mostly as a online Co-Op experience people will hate grouping together and demand to do things solo.

If something about the game rubs you the wrong way, complain about it several times on a message board.

Or you could make your own group by hand or with party finder and stop being a prick to those new to the fight.

1- If you didn't watch a video on how to do something beforehand you're liable to be kicked or have people drop from the group because NOBODY has ever had to figure it out "manually"

    2. If you claim you're a first timer and flawlessly execute your role in the party, you may get showered with praise and commendations. However, if you die once you are likely about to receive undeserved derogatory slurs, possibly racial and/or sexual terms, before having other members drop or vote kick you out.

    3. If you give someone a tip on their job whilst not on said job, the person may take it to heart and thank you for the tip, or they will "yell" at you in all caps saying you don't know how to play the job because you're currently a (insert job here) and not a (insert their job here)

    4. Someone is automatically a "noob" if they still have a single piece AF1 armor at level 50 several months after the game has been released, even if it is the person's second, third, or even fourth job or character

    5. Lag is nonexistent because the person who is saying so has a great internet connection, therefore everyone does too.

    6. If you put something up on the market you have to undercut the current lowest price item or item that most recently sold the cheapest by half or more. This way, you will be sure to get your gil near immediately.

I, for one, love (melodic) death metal (favorite band is Hypocrisy) and would much rather be listening to it over punk rock. Nothing wrong with punk or any other genre, just personal preference. And death metal certainly doesn't make your ears bleed. (/sarcasm) YOUR MUSIC MAKES MY EARS BLEED! (/endsarcasm)

That said, metal certainly isn't the only music I like and I almost always prefer listening to the in-game music over playing music separately.
