I'd assume it's double the old one, just like the rest. Double worthless is still worthless though, as long as there is a cap on spiritbinding, I find any +spiritbinding to be fairly redundant.

Considering the best gear can never be melded. Melding is more like for entry and low levels. Say meld your crafted stuff to make it very good (not best, but still very good) or your leveling gear to make it more competent, cause leveling is hard yaknow.
