Solo healed Ultima 4 times![]()

Solo healed Ultima 4 times![]()

My first time in Copperbell Mines I was regular Arcanist and hadn't ever healed a dungeon in this game before. I went df as dps, but the healer disconnects not even half way through. I decide to take over as healer and we finish the dungeon out with 3 people and me healing as Arcanist.
More recently had a run that could have belonged in horror stories - total fail tank in every way imaginable, doesn't use flash, making no attempt to get any mobs off the dps or myself. Made no response to any inquiries we made about being new to tanking or asking them to use flash. Had one instance in the earlier half of the dungeon where two people died at the same time, but after that I healed the rest of the way through without any additional KOs, including the boss fight.
I only recently got Scholar, so this probably seems like small little stuff, since I'm not up to the hard fights or anything impressive, but I'm still proud of my little things.

I've had and love moments like that before. Then I've had moments where we wipe and there's nothing I can do about that. I think it's important to realize that sometimes a wipe or near wipe is not your fault. Maybe the party is under-geared like your tank was. Or maybe they aren't paying attention to the mechanics of the fight. Every now and then, it will be your fault. There are times where I've gotten myself overwhelmed and we wipe. I've found that most people are supportive, they realize that nobody is perfect. You might get a jerk from time to time though, but what can they do, type angry words at you? If you are in a PUG, you might never see them in the game again, or you can blacklist them and ensure that you never do. But for me, I love when I have those amazing 'miracle' moments and seem like the greatest whm to ever roam Eorzea. And I just brush off the moments where I am the biggest noob ever.Nothing special because I just recently started leveling up WHM, but me being not very confident of my healing skills and first time Brayflox as a WHM...:
All went well, could easily DoT the mobs, after the first boss the tank stopped and called my name, I just thought "okay, just what went wrong now?? I can do it better!"... but he only asked me how the hell I managed to esuna every single poison of him for his gear wasn't even the greatest. I was so proud that moment and sticked to leveling WHM!

So I've never really leveled any other classes much except my main, which is Black Mage. Well, recently I've been leveling an Arcanist and been trying to get used to Scholar. All I've been doing is Hunting Log and Levequests. However, I try out Haukke for the first time at level 33. Tank is crap and quits after second pull of trash. Somehow we don't get another tank. Soooo it's me as Scholar, a Bard, and a Monk and we make it all the way to the final boss before a Paladin pops in for the last boss fight.
Epic healing story? Both the Monk and Bard were like fresh level 30-ish and the Monk was doing Haukke for the first time ever. Little Eos and I kept all three of us alive up until the last boss AND on my first attempt ever to heal in a dungeon. (I felt epic as hell and got 3 commendations from my whole party, yay me!)

Oh, I got one that happened yesterday!
I used the Duty Roulette, and ended up in Pharos Sirius (fuck me) and on top of that, a dps insta quit >_>
Now, I never actually beat this dungeon up until this point, so I was less than optimistic, but it asked if they wanted to go on anyway while we wait, they agreed, and we started.
Since I'm a Scholar, I summoned Eos and we started, and as it turned out... We kicked ass. I was dpsing and Eos was main healing, and we got to the first boss and another dps hasn't shown up, so we go, not really expecting to win...
Well, we did. Mostly Eos was healing, but I dropped CS and healed when needed and through in Lustrates and SS with it on. We one shotted the first boss with three people!
Halfway to the second boss, a Summoner showed up, so we had all four. After the second boss (which we wiped once due to mechanic confusion) we one shotted everything. Siren was easy, just Lustrate to top off.
Pretty awesome I say.
This is on behalf of a SCH:
Doing WP on Daily roulette. BLM DRG me as PLD and said SCH. SCH was about i80 but newer to the role.
Anyway, got to the last pull, all is good. Told itchy-trigger-finger BLM to hold.
Me: Ok - want to do the whole pull?
BLM: We don't have an LB.![]()
Me: Up to SCH then. You up for a little fun and crazy?
SCH: Sure! Let's try
Kept me and everyone alive, whole pull goes quite well. Yay! Pretty epic on the SCH's part.
This happened with me in Garuda EX. I thought you had to be ilvl 83-85 to solo heal it but I did it...quite a few times as ilvl 80. The SCH was in cleric stance the whole time and DPS'ed. We were farming it so I solo healed it about 5 times. Nothing really special but I felt like I accomplished somethingI know I'm just getting started with this game, but my best story so far came tonight. I was in an 8 player FATE party around Costa, and I was so on top of the healing even for "It's not Lupus" that the other WHM in the party activated Cleric and spent the rest of the night in a DPS role.

Cleared t5 Monday, before the patch, for the first time, on WHM. With a PUG group. Dropped the Allagan Cane.

/wins Allagan Cane uncontested.
Thank you random Static for pugging a WHM on the PF, since your WHM dropped for other reasons. I am sorry for making him cry :3 (not really! but thanks if you were there!)

This is a couple weeks old now, but I posted a story on the Redditz (too long to just copypasta here) about my friend and I's experiences trying to get Titan HM down as fairly new 50's using the DF & PF. Despite general toxicity of the FFXIV subreddit, people enjoyed the story and dick jokes peppered throughout.
Edit: Relevant because I'm a Scholar who ended up pretty much solohealing the ordeal with a level 55 book.

Nothing entirely epic. It was CT. We were on Acheron and our BLM was standing with group C (we were group A). The BLM got hit by almost everything, and was nowhere near me for medica on quakes. I saw they had around 400 health, after the second ancient flare. I popped my sprint and hit a swift cast medica II to top my group off as I ran by. Acheron started up his hundred cuts and I saw the BLM wasn't going to make it out of the aoe. I managed to sprint in range and hit benediction on them a split second before Acheron's attack landed. The timing was so close his health bar didn't even finish filling before he got hit and dropped back down to around 500.
It's nothing crazy but I was pretty elated that Benediction for once didn't just screw me over. Because it has. And it does. Constantly.
